    Need help with error message

Sounds good. I always used the Stored folder just to make it a little easier to look through the files. I have made those changes but still get this error message albeit with different numbers... All recordings set to New on the E: drive with no expiry... and I have given 5.3T out of the 6T to...

    Need help with error message

This is BI 4 still, not 5 but that shouldn't make much difference. In my old setup I had the folders set up this way and it worked without error, but I appreciate your thoughts on avoiding rewriting them just to sway folders.... although I am not sure Windows rewrites them or just re-indexes...

    Need help with error message

I am reconstructing my entire BI setup after a HDD crash and it is mostly back to normal, but I am seeing some sort of disk error... this appears on the mobile app and the admin console. Basically I have BI set up to record my cams continuously to the 6 TB drive E: drive, on the same PC...

That was exactly my issue. Thanks for posting the solution.

What is BI configuration backup file named?

I am rebuilding my BI4 setup after a HDD failure and before I manually add all the cameras I want to check to see if I have a backup file... I believe I made on once upon a time but it would have been a long time ago and I am less than organized. I would like to do a search on my PCs and...

HD crashed, after re-install BI4 will not start

I replaced the HDD and did a totally new and clean install of Windows. Then a clean install of BI 4.

HD crashed, after re-install BI4 will not start

Blue Iris server admin. I can't get it to run at all. App fails to start and generates some sort of Windows pop up box with a red bar and one of those arcane Xcodes.

HD crashed, after re-install BI4 will not start

As subject says.... I just replaced my OS and program HDD and did a clean Win 10 Pro install. I re-installed BI from the website's "Legacy BI4" link and it won't even start up. I expected to have the usual hassle of setting all my cams up again but did not expect this. Can anyone help?

Need cam recommendation for a home with Hughesnet service

I just tried to set up an old Foscam in the basement of friend's farm house to monitor for flooding and other issues. They have Hughes sat service just using the modem to feed a Netgear wifi router. I did the usual port forward an such and it seemed to work until we left the property then...

    PITA wifi issues

I did check that in this process and one was up to date and one was 1 v. behind... now current from 2017. Not sure these will get any more, they are older models. And strangely enough the v.1 TP-link plugs I bought a few weeks ago work fine with all flavors of wifi encryption but the new v.2...

    PITA wifi issues

Got my issue resolved, another factory reset on the cams did the trick and they are connecting and streaming with WPA2 connex. I though I'd tried that back when I installed them but maybe not. Thanks for all the help. ;-)

    PITA wifi issues

Still missing the point. This one supposedly has WPA2 and accepts the key and connects to it in the web UI, but drops as soon as the ethernet cable is pulled. I'd like to know some decent cam recommendations for ones that are confirmed to work with WPA2.

    PITA wifi issues

Yeah, I know mixed mode isn't great. These cams really pizzz me off. Connected via ethernet they see my WPA2 network that I can then select and enter the key and it says "connected". They just drop off as soon as the cable is removed and will not reconnect via wifi.

    PITA wifi issues

I have a lot of devices on my network but still have had good luck with my wifi cams staying connected. It's just this stupid encryption issue....

    PITA wifi issues

My main outdoor cams are POE but I have a couple of wifi cams indoors, specifically a pair of Amcrest IP2m841's. But these cameras have problematic wifi and will not connect to my network (Linksys 1900ACM) unless I run wifi encryprtion in WPA2/WPA mixed mode. Unfortunately that is not...

    High disk usage

I just realized something by looking deeper into the UI3 settings. Disk usage here means space allocation, not disk read/write usage. D'ooohhh. That makes more sense.

    High disk usage

Thanks for the replies... I'll look into this after the hellidays. BTW the disk usage % I am talking about is from the BI app or web UI. I haven't looked on the server PC task manager to see if it reports similar.

    High disk usage

Not really troubleshooting, just a PC tech question. I have 6 cams recording to a WD Purple 24/7, CPU typically sits at 25% but disk sits at 85%. I am not planning to add more cams soon but if I did I might be maxing out the disc data path. Besides reducing resolution and frame rates is there...

I keep getting "geofence failed to update" on my iPhone app

I think this is just a quirk of the app since the Blue Iris event log updates and shows whether the phone is "inside" or "outside" and the profile changes correctly. But every time I leave or return I get the same error via BI app notification. Is this fixable?

    Another porch pirate

We have one of those, too, but the Jack Russell variety. He is getting older so isn't quite the hair trigger he used to be. Yup, Amazon going more and more to their own shipping... on the cheap like everything else they do. I wonder how UPS and FedEx will adapt?

    Another porch pirate

I did get a Ring... the "Pro" model because it was narrow enough to fit on my front door trim. Compared to the typical ip cam install and setup was exceedingly simple. The only network task was to enter the security key to join the wifi network. Physical install was a snap, too... connect to...

    Another porch pirate

I thought about trying that a long time ago with a cheap cam on my light post, but in my case it wouldn't be ideal because it is close to the road and cars/headlights. It might work if it was aimed back at the house. Catch 'em leaving instead of coming.

    Another porch pirate

Today my cam caught all the action out on the doorstep. UPS guy left a delivery for me and another apparently next door. Then a little later I see my neighbor walk over with a box, leave it on my stoop, and pick up the 2 envelopes the UPS man had left me. The eeeejit had delivered the...

Looks like a nice cam and I'd like to play with a PTZ, but I really don't need a PTZ.
