I bet PayPal sent out a shitload of these e-mails this weekend. As I was trying to close mine out yesterday, PayPal tries to entice me back with a $5.00 coupon. They just added gasoline to the fire by attempting to belittle us with a $5.00 digital nothing to come back. Never.

Bongino's payment processing is called "Parallel Economy" and is actually a credit card processor so it's not quite the same as PayPal. Although I think we all have debit cards from our banks that would serve for direct cash transfers using it to make it, basically, the equivalent in function.

Cancelled today during my lunch. It's insane that a company could destroy itself like this. These types of changes in terms are reviewed by teams of lawyers so there was no mistake in releasing this version of the terms. How could they be so dumb as to think this would not backfire?

I actually thought the $2500 was less troublesome than the woke rules they are trying to implement. Effectively anything you say publicly that “offends” anyone in their definition has consequences from closing your account up to the fine and even holding all of your funds.

The fine wasn’t going to make it past the first court case anyway.

This is a preview of social credit scores.

Why Paypal thought they had enough horsepower to implement it is beyond rational thought.

Luckily, I am not worried about "Social Credit Scores". I am old enough for it to not really affect me and I have not utilized my real name on the internet, ever. The younger generation, though. Let's face it, they're gonna be fucked.

The way I see it is with "involve the sending, posting, or publication of any messages, content, or materials
that, in PayPal’s sole discretion,"

Don't you think they can blur the lines with any of these especially
(a) are harmful, obscene, harassing, or
objectionable, (b) depict or appear to depict nudity, sexual or other intimate
activities, (c) depict or promote illegal drug use, (d) depict or promote violence,
criminal activity, cruelty, or self-harm (e) depict, promote, or incite hatred or
discrimination of protected groups or of individuals or groups based on protected
characteristics (e.g. race, religion, gender or gender identity, sexual orientation,
etc.) (f) present a risk to user safety or wellbeing, (g) are fraudulent, promote
misinformation, or are unlawful, (h) infringe the privacy, intellectual property
rights, or other proprietary rights of any party, or (i) are otherwise unfit for
publication.

Yup--- it's insane-- anybody can complain about you, and this private company acts as judge and jury and imposes fines??? What in the hell were they thinking?
