Here's the firmware from Febuary 2021 that Dahua sent. I updated my camera before I knew that they can't be downgraded anymore, so it's a one-way trip. So if you do it, know you can't go back.

I didn't realize that I could just put it as an attachment to a post here until now.

Confirmed to work with the DH-SD59225U-HNI (what I have). This has a build date of 2021-02-03. If anyone can figure out how to turn off the auto-logout of the web interface with this new version, I'm all ears. Super-annoying.

So I got an IPC-T5442T-ZE through empirecandy (thanks!). I am having some issues with recordings dropping after tripwire event (using Synology Surveillance Station). But before I do any significant trouble shooting I thought I'd update the firmware. Am I correct in assuming that I can use one from Dahua site for IPC-HDW5442T-ZE ?

Did you ever get an answer or do this? I just got one of these and it can't even send e-mail. LOL. Maybe I'll try to update the firmware if I can find the correct one. Or else just return it.

Like Kaczor47 the nearest analog to the IPC-T5442T-ZE I can find on the Dahua site is the IPC-HDW5442T-ZE but the firmware files listed for that don't look anything like what my cam reports. My cam also reports that I am on the most recent, dated 10-19-2020, but I am highly skeptical that is true.

Hi kaczor & Raylo32, I have several of the IPC-T5442T-ZE from Andy at EmpireTech. These are in fact the IPC-HDW5442T-ZE on the official Dahua website. Dahua controls where/who can use it's specific model numbers, therefore EmpireTech's model designations may vary slightly. Dahau also seems to use a completely different set of model numbers for marketing in the USA. But Andy's products are the real deal.

As for firmware, my IPC-T5442T-ZE's are currently running V2.800.15OG004.0.R, Build Date: 2020-12-03 (my cameras shipped with this firmware), but I see there is a newer version on the Dahua webiste: DH_IPC-HX5XXX-Volt_MultiLang_NP_Stream3_V2.820.0000000.2.R.210403. I have not tried this latest firmware from the Dahua website, nor have I seen any reviews/info on what's new. But yes, this is a correct Firmware version for the IPC-T5442T-ZE.

FYI: Andy from EmpireTech often reads these forums, but there are a constant stream of posts. In my experience, I've gotten quick responses on issues like this by direct messaging or emailing him directly.

The cam I received just a few days ago is on 2.800.15OG004.0.R, Build Date: 2020-10-19. How do we know the one you reference is the correct one for this cam? Just curious so I will know what to look for. Is the 5xxx and "ZE" suffix the key identifiers? Not sure I will upgrade right away anyway since I don't really have any issues. The worst so far is mine just caught a large dog sprinting by and detected a "human". But can live with that one. Doesn't happen very often.

The 5442 family of cameras all use the Volt chipset as far as I know. And the 5442 family uses the ZE designation to indicate a varifocal model. The firmware version I mentioned is listed on the official Dahua webpage for the model IPC-HDW5442T-ZE. Some 5 series cameras use different chipsets, so the 5XXX in the firmware title is NOT enough to determine compatibility for a particular model.

Volt and Leo.
If it's the wrong chipset it shouldn't pass the hwid check and thus wont brick.

Z means zoom, E means ePoE

Hi all.

I have a few cameras I'm looking for latest firmware for. Can anyone let me know which firmware I should use for the following cameras?
I'm not confident enough to decode the firmware filenames myself....

IPC-HDW4421EMP-AS
IPC-HDW5831R-ZE

Thanks!

Hi guys. I need som clarification regarding what file to actually use when updating. For the 5442 lineup there seems to be atleast 4 different zip-files to download.
At least from this page: IPC-HDBW5442R-ASE-NI (dahuasecurity.com)

General_IPC-HX5XXX-Volt_MultiLang_PN_Stream3_V2.820.0000000.2.R.210403
DH_IPC-HX5XXX-Volt_MultiLang_NP_Stream3_V2.820.0000000.2.R.210403
General_IPC-HX5XXX-Volt_MultiLang_NP_Stream3_V2.820.0000000.2.R.210403
DH_IPC-HX5XXX-Volt_MultiLang_PN_Stream3_V2.820.0000000.2.R.210403

My understanding is that DH means that the camera gets branded Dahua. Maybe the PN/NP have something to do with PAL/NTSC? If so it doesn't make sense since both are available in the settings.
When unzipping these files there are at least two files that are larger then the others.
DH_IPC-HX5XXX-Volt_MultiLang_PN_Stream3_V2.820.0000000.2.R.210403.bin and firmwar.bin
How do we know which one to choose? We don't want to brick anything by guessing which firmware file to upload.
Cheers, Marcus

@Magren, I updated the camera with this file: DH_IPC-HX5XXX-Volt_MultiLang_PN_Stream3_V2.820.0000000.2.R.210403.bin

PN is for Pal and set as default, and NP means NTSC is set as default
