It is with a heavy heart that we must inform you that Carl unexpectedly passed away this week. You have known him as the webs best go to security camera specialist. We knew him as a loving father, caring husband, and great mentor. This is a sad loss for the security camera industry. His reviews were the most thorough, unbiased and in-depth resource on the industries’ most popular cameras. Carl had the most loyal followers, and this site brought him so much joy. Thank you for sharing this journey with Carl.

What a bummer. He's got big shoes to fill in the community and for those who loved him.
 
Rest in Peace Carl... had the fortunate experience of talking to him a few times in PM on another forum, always learned alot from his posts. Great guy.
 
Wow that's terrible news, I'm really sorry to hear that. His website, reviews and expertise was very helpful to many people around the world and he was a fellow member here on IPCT who helped out a lot of other members.

I'm reminded of Mario Cuomo's recent passing...where the accolades were legion...but not one of the articles or comments I read carried any mention the grotesque incident "vote for Cuomo not the homo."

I guess the take-away is that good people can do bad things sometimes.
 
This is very sad news. Carl was a very talented professional and will be missed by many on this forum. My prayers go to his family.
 
This is sad news. Many of us have known Carl for many years though is postings on several camera forums. He was extremely knowledgeable and provided fantastic detail camera reviews. My sympathy to his family and friends.
 
It's almost eerie that I purposely checked his blog tonight, which I haven't done in quite a long time- only to hear of this sad, sad news. Thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

I'm sure he's saying "now this is a view!"

This is so sad. Carl was one of the few people in forums to never get into arguments or pissing contests. He was above that and provided the best info possible to the community.

A true loss for the community. I've spent hours reading through his blogposts pondering what model cams to buy. He has been a great help and I was shocked to read that he passed away.

All the best to his family in this time.
 
Very sad news and a big loss for the whole network camera community around the world. Carl’s evaluations of cams and professional opinions in forums have been a guiding light for many of us. Died only at the age of 59! I hope he did not suffer.

RIP Carl. You will be missed.

Wow, extremely sad news for sure. I wish the best to the family, it sounds as if this was a major shock and out of the blue so I hope everyone handles this as best as can be expected. Sorry for your loss, he will be missed.
