rs232 and TTL - - - is it not a same thing?
I'd expect a DB9 connector on the back panel to be 'classic RS-232', and a serial console connector on the main board, a 4-pin 1.5mm JST ZH connector, as Hikvision usually have (though I've not seen a 7716) to be serial TTL.
They have quite different signal levels and are not compatible.
 
You mean socket like on the 1st picture? With TX, RX, GND? If yes which TTL device better to use (2nd picture)???

It's usually a 4-pin connector - but certainly that could be a candidate. Presumably not your picture? Or how would you know what pad is what?


I've had good success with PL2303HX-based serial TTL to USB convertors.

Im not sure about what is the pad. Help pls! We was try to put 2303 and ch 340g to 3,4,6 pins and nothing. How to known where is TX, RX, GND on this MB?
