So this guy shows up to steal an Amazon package but sits on the porch to open it up to see if it is worth taking LOL

First thing we notice is because it is motion only, it doesn't start recording until after he has turned around and is leaving




Then why you want to force a camera into either B/W or color. Because he came up apparently it thought it had enough light and switched to color and now it is a black image:

LOL I didn't pay attention to the time stamp, just what the OP said in their post about being woken up to this alert at 4am. Maybe their time is off LOL or maybe that is how long of a lag the alert is with wifi doorbell cams

We know what happened - it is a wifi camera LOL and it can't keep up with the data demands with motion.

This is why we harp do not use wifi cameras for mission critical applications.
