Starlife Dvr forgot password

I forgot my starlife dvr password. I am trying to reset dvr by removing cmos battery but i cant do it. Please help me

Have to done a Google search for any hard-coded admin passwords for the (unspecified) model?
Does the device accept telnet or SSH connections?
There will be a serial console access on the motherboard.

There will be a serial console access on the motherboard.

Perhaps the white connector above the bottom left mounting screw, part hidden by the front panel ribbon cable, if it has 4 pins.
