(PTZ 5MP) IPCAM - C6F0SoZ3N0PcL2 - V19.1.64.16.65-20210304 | PTZ Codes (especially for IR control) ?

Hi,

New to the forum, just installing my CCTV (with Blue Iris) :).

I got the above camera. It's a 5 MP PTZ, from ctronics.

For some reason I was not able to disable to IR led's. I contacted ctronics about this, they very fast and helpful but disabled the led's all together (which was not my question). I already wrote then and did a hardware (factory) reset, but the led's now stay on. Kind of weird the h/w reset (it has a switch you need to press and makes some sounds ) doesn't seem to work.

I'm assuming their support used some PTZ codes to disable it, but not sure what they now actually did.

So if anyone has some codes for this camera or a solution how to switch it back on?

I tried a whole bunch but non working.

Much obliged!

If it was not your question... maybe you should give the question to understand what you want.

Also... these humanoid tracking ptz cameras are buggy and shit. if you can, send it back

Other then what I read on the different forms, my camera works now great. I'm able to disable the IR led's.

Little bit of translation issues when talking to the folks of ctronics. But they where very helpful, to a point that I was actually surprised. All emails replied within a business day.

I'm not sure how capable they are, since they seem to think you can only call preset codes via their app HIP2P (which works fine with the browser version) and also with BI (although they said it would not work, lol).

At the end, not that bad for the price paid.

For this specific model / software | C6F0SoZ3N0PcL2 / V19.1.64.16.65-20210304:
  • call 82 for IR on
  • call 83 for IR off
no associated with them in any shape or form, bough the camera on amazon.

Hello.
Do you have other presets for software version C6F0SoZ3N0PcL2?

Hi,
do you know if the models on sale now from ctronics allow IRs to be turned off?
Thanks
No, idea. I'm not affiliated in any way.

I would think yes. But if you wanna be sure, write them a email.

Lots of these camera's have something like this:

write them a email.
Thanks onesixright,
I sent an email to ctronics support one week ago and they replied that "the white LED light can be turned off but the IR lights cannot. And our other cameras are the same."
From the picture you put in the first post, it seems to me that yours is model CTPT-295C (5MP zoom 30x). If so, it means that the person who answered me gave me incorrect information....

Oh :( Yeah, thats a bit all too familiar. They also don't read, so you need to be lucky with the customer support.

I ordered it from Amazon. It would actually surprise me if you can not switch them off, but with Amazon you can send it back.

Other than that, I have to say for the price they have good service. My IR led's broke after some time, and they send me a new one (after I gave them access to the camera and they could see it was not working). The first I bought on 24 July 2021, and after the replacement it still works great. I have multiple of this brand, and sofar can't say something bad. The HiCam (app) is not great and neither is the web interface (but you only use that for setup). I run it all via BlueIris and that works pretty well.

FWIW, these cameras run on HiSilicon (Hi3516/Hi3518) SoC.

You can even query and set features by calling the url in your browser:

So checking the IR state and switch on or off the LED's:

Code:
http://<ip>/web/cgi-bin/hi3510/param.cgi?cmd=setinfrared&-infraredstat=close
http://<ip>/web/cgi-bin/hi3510/param.cgi?cmd=setinfrared&-infraredstat=open
http://<ip>/web/cgi-bin/hi3510/param.cgi?cmd=setinfrared&-infraredstat=auto

GL!

I bought it!
I got the Ctronics CTIPC-285C-Z4 (1080p, 5x zoom, device type C6F0SgZ3N0PoL2) and in the web interface it has the option to turn off IR:
web interface.png
unfortunately, however, it only acts on the no-IR filter inside the lens but not on the leds....
I checked the consumption: with the leds off it consumes 2.09W,
off.jpg
by covering both the lens and a brightness sensor located at the bottom with black electrical tape, the IR leds are turned on and the consumption rises to 5.61W.
IR on.jpg
If I enable from the web interface the “IR control” you can hear the filter switch and the image becomes b/w, but the consumption remains at 5.61W. To make the IR leds turn off, I have to remove both the tape from the lens and the sensor.
I also measured the consumption with the white leds on: 3.03W.

This makes no sense: why turn on the IR leds if it is not in IR mode?
I have tried cgi codes found on the net (they can be found by googling by searching “FDT+IP+Camera+CGI+&+RTSP+User+Guide+v1.0.2”), but there is nothing that actually turns off the IR leds. The “setinfrared” command is the same as “IR control” in the web interface.
I'm a bit bitter: this model, evaluated for the price, I like it very much and it has all the functions I was looking for, except one...

I'm able to disable the IR led's
Your webcam should be a slightly higher model (but the device type is almost identical). If you put it in a completely dark environment, what do the IR LEDs do?

You want to know if they really go off?
Yes, thank you.
In my model, if the environment is very very dark (with no lights hitting the camera), the IR LEDs turn on, even if they are “off.” For example, if I turn it toward the street (which is lit) they do not light up, but if I turn it toward the wall (which is dark) they light up.

@Lucio74

Just tested it. I'm not in my house, and it's basically in the woods. So no street light its pitch black.

What I can see is if I turn IR OFF, it shows some pink/red-ish light. I have another camera (CTRONIX): C6F0SoZ3N0PfL2 that one does exactly same. And since my camera's are overlapping, I can see the IR light of the other camera. And looks like nothing is truly changing, despite it says IR LEDS OFF.

I would expect that its will be pitch black when turning them off. But something is still going on, I guess thats what you mean. Now I'm also confused.

@Lucio74

Sorry, I think that post was not complete. I mixed up a few things.

These code below do (still) work (but via the web interface it doesn't) its for the 5MP zoom 30x. But my other camera (I think it's a 5MP zoom 5x) they don't. However for that camera the IR OFF via web interface do work.
  • call 82 for IR on
  • call 83 for IR off

Now I'm also confused
Thank you for the test.
However, I didn't quite understand the results....
Let me try to summarize:
  • C6F0SoZ3N0PcL2 5MP 30x: preset 83 disable IR leds, “IR control” via web interface don't disable IR leds
  • C6F0SoZ3N0PfL2 5MP 5x: no way to disable IR leds
Have I understood correctly?
