Moving current Surveillance HDDs from one Lorex NVR to a New One - what to keep in mind?

Hi there,

I'm upgrading to a new Lorex NVR that has more channels, and I'd like to use the surveillance drives that are currently recording on my old NVR in the new one. I don't see anything about whether or not I would need to format these drives before using them in the new one, but I'd like to just plug them in my new NVR and then set it up so that I don't have to make a backup of all that footage on something else. I'd like my current recordings to just be there on my new one.

I'm moving from an LNR400 series to an N882 series NVR.

1) can I do this?
2) what else should I keep in mind when I make this upgrade?

Thanks!

Give it a shot, but I suspect that there are enough differences on the firmware that it will not acknowledge what is on the drive or be able to decipher it in a way that you could watch it on the new NVR.

If it doesn't work, then it is just a simple reformat of the drive.
