Hikvision R0 series chinese 5.2.5 to newer upgrade

Hello,

I own a Chinese (CH in serial no) Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I camera, which came with firmware 5.2.8.
Due to recent changes in gmail, I need to upgrade to newer firmware.

I downloaded an European/international version, which of course didn't work, but thankfully, I found a Chinese 5.2.5 firmware here, which I flashed using tftp and now it works.
Now, I went to the Chinese hikvision website and downloaded the Chinese 5.3.0 firmware, which to my surprise doesn't work either !

So, now I'm stuck with the 5.2.5 firmware (working ok). Does anyone know if there is any way to upgrade it (Chinese fw, of course, but newer)?
(Chinese menus don't bother me)

Nope. There is no way. You can ask supplier.

Use a different email service provider and forward camera mail from that provider to your gmail account?

I guess that will work, but will need me to find another provider (many like gmail don't work) and will probably be just temporary until they also stop supporting SSL.
So, that's the backup plan if there is no way to upgrade.
It just seems weird that it can't take any newer fw, even the official Chinese.
