I wish Hikvision updated this PTZ with a better sensor. Loved that it is enclosed and you can barely tell from a distance where is it pointed at.
Hi, any idea how to fix problem with DS-2DE4A425IW-DE 6 auto tracking, latest firmware V5.7.11 build 230612, it looks like impossible to downgrade firmware .Thanks
Seems that the only way to fix the auto tracking is to change your camera.
I haven't seen a single camera where it works as it should (every time, or even almost every time)
Thanks for uploading that file, i was able to downgrade my DS-2DE4A425IW-DE from V5.7.11_230612 to 220831 using batch config tool. Restoring smart tracking ability.

Smart tracking has not been working for me for a while now. In the software there is a checkbox for Enable Smart Tracking.
Can I get this back with a different firmware version than I have now?

Been following this thread as I have a DS-2DE4A425IW-DE that started to not return to position properly after it tracked. This started late last year after working brilliantly for the past couple of years. I would reset the tracking and it worked okay only to have it within a day or two start doing the same not return properly after tracking. I looked at the firmware upgrade only to see that Hikvision have removed the smart tracking option. I ended up turning smart tracking off. Doing more googling, I see Hikvision have discontinued this camera and replaced it with a DS-2DE4A425IWG-E, which is identical to the 425IW-DE except now says it doesn't false alarm and now has AI for face and car detection. Maybe Hikvision became aware of the 2DE4A425IW-DE fault with tracking and first decided to remove it by firmware update on existing camera's and discontinuing it's sale and replacing it with the 425IWG-E. It say's in the spiel "Focuses on human and vehicle targets classification based on deep learning" and elsewhere it doesn't false alarm. I am considering buying it to replace the 425IW-DE. If I do I'll write a report.

Well, I purchased the DS-2DE4A425IWG-E. Smart tracking is very good. Doesn't false alarm on waving bushes or birds. Picks up humans and vehicles and zooms in and locks on them. Doesn't lose what it is locked onto unlike the previous camera. Panning, zooming and tilting is very good. The tilting up I believe is better as it seems to go higher than the previous camera and I believe it zooms in closer. The specs for this camera match the other camera but as I said, the tilt and zoom is better. I am happy with this camera.
I think the older camera defaulted to 0 degrees max tilt... the new one defaults to -5 degrees:
I got it a few months ago, and I've been happy with it too... would be great if they could increase the sensor size to 1/1.8" for this form factor.
I've been trying to get tracking like this for 5 weeks now. My main problem is my dyslexia. I cant read manuals.
Would you folks help me? What firmware are you on where your tracking is working so good like you say?

You are already running the correct/latest V5.8.0_231109 firmware. I did find and load newer "H8" series firmware V5.8.10_241120 for another camera here:
DS-2DE7A432IW-AEB
but I don't recommend you load it... the only visible difference I could find with this firmware was the addition of this one setting (and I don't know what it does anyway):

I have the camera schedule set to always patrol:
The patrol sends the camera to two different presets every 15 seconds... at each preset I have an intrusion detection event setup for "human" with "Tracking Linkage" enabled:
Here are the "Advanced Configuration" settings I use:
I would prefer to use my NVR settings to use 2 of my other stationary cameras to send the PTZ to the presets (rather than scheduled patrol):
BUT, when the PTZ arrives at the preset there is a 5 second delay before the intrusion detection event for that preset is activated... when the patrol sends the PTZ to each preset, the intrusion detection event is activated immediately.

I am happy with DS-2DE4A425IWG-E as a successor to the DS-2DE4A320IW-DE.
Buggest difference is the DS-2DE4A320IW-DE did not support detection targets (human/vehicle) which made the smart tracking pretty useless. It was just "swinging in the breeze"
The DS-2DE4A425IWG-E detects a target and tracks it very well.
Another question: Can you transfer the settings you had in the 'old' camera to the new one or does the menu look completely different?

I don't think you can transfer settings between cameras using "Import Parameters" unless they are the same model.
I don't meane transfer, but use the same settings, but i don't know or the Menu is the same. it cost a lot of time to set all the settings that everything is perfect (daily and night).
You can change that to -5 on the old -DE version (at least on the FW I uploaded)
