That will be awesome if you can post the walkthrough. So 5842 series camera will get 5.0 interface in the future or they already have that in the latest firmware?
@Eagle29 take a look at the video below. I show off the Web GUI 5.0 as part of my PTZ review. This however is a walk through video so you get to see all the nice extras and useful options baked into 5.0 that first came to the Ultra series in 2021. I will do another one for the later versions too

Got a 3841-S2 device with Web 5.0 Firmware. Sorry to say that but it's bad.

Btw. Taurus uses CHIPUP XS7320 CPU. No comment.....

New cameras quality:

"
DHBOOT_part_checkAddErrCount error count:95
"

EDIT: 20 reboots later:

DHBOOT_part_checkAddErrCount error count:101

Who did you purchase the cam from ? Maybe start a thread on the issue you're seeing and what got it to that point (failed upgrade, out of box etc etc) as this is not the best thread to discuss the cam issue on but definitely reach out to the seller for assistance. HTH

what is the latest firmware for IPC-HFW3549T1-AS-PV-0280B ?
Dahua made a small mistake there and released new camera models after just one year, but with completely identical markings as the older models that are now EOL (end of life), and of course their firmware is not the same!

EoL mean no more new updates? How do I know if I have old or new model if both have same model number?

What are those two red dots at the bottom of the camera on the second picture?
They are red/blue light for TIOC - Three-In-One-Camera - meaning active deterrence camera that can flash red/blue lights when motion is detected.

is any ways to update firmware of DH-IPC-HFW3549T1-AS-PV up to DH-IPC-HFW3549T1-AS-PV-S3 to obtain "smart illumination"? (as they both has one firmware)?

The S3 means a different chipset so it will either not work or will brick the camera.

Another thing to consider is that the same model could have different firmware for different chipsets used during the life of that model. So you run the risk of bricking if you do not know what chipset you have.
Here is an example - the HFW3549T1-AS-PV is available in 2 versions of firmware across 3 different chipsets for the same model camera:
  • HFW3549T1-AS-PV-S4 uses the HX3XXX-Taurus firmware.
  • HFW3549T1-AS-PV and IPC-HFW3549T1-AS-PV-S3 use the HX5XXX-Volt firmware
one firmware - logically, means one feature set... strange... smart illumination is not so intellectual feature to disable it in EOL models. thank you. very sad ((

by the way, why "General_IPC-HX5XXX-Volt_MCU_V2.840.0000000.18.R.220629.bin" is not flashes via web or native application? may be it's an initial problem "no smart illumination" in menu
DH_IPC-HX5XXX-Volt_MultiLang_PN_Stream3_V2.840.0000000.18.R.220629.bin and firmware.bin flashed OK.

See, both cameras use the same firmware, but you won't get smart lighting on the older camera model IPC-HFW3549T1-AS-PV because there is no built-in IR LED lamp but only LED Warm light, while the newer model IPC-HFW3549T1-AS-PV-S3 has IR LED night lamps and LED Warm lamps, and therefore it can have Smart Dual Illuminators Technology.
