Most of these cover the new 1/2.8" Sony Exmor-R Starlight (Eco Savvy) powered cameras that are considerably more affordable than the previous 1/1.9" Sony Exmor Starlight (Ultra) lineup. Most of the Eco Savvy 3.0 cameras street prices are very comparable to there non-starlight counterparts and totally worth the extra money spent given the performance gained.

I've already reviewed the performance of the:

Varifocals:
Ultra Varifocals:
  • Ultra Starlight Bullet w/SD, External Audio & Alarm (4.1mm-16.4mm) IPC-HFW8232E-Z
  • Ultra Starlight Dome w/SD, External Audio & Alarm (4.1mm-16.4mm) IPC-HDBW8232E-Z
  • Ultra WDR Bullet w/SD, External Audio & Alarm (2.7mm-12mm) IPC-HFW8231E-Z
  • Ultra WDR Dome w/SD, External Audio & Alarm (2.7mm-12mm) IPC-HDBW8231E-Z
  • Ultra WDR Z5 Bullet w/SD, External Audio & Alarm (7mm-35mm): IPC-HFW8231E-Z5
  • Ultra WDR Z5 IR Dome w/SD, External Audio & Alarm (7mm-35mm): IPC-HDBW8231E-Z5
Fixed Bullets:
Fixed Turrets:
Domes (not recommended outdoors):
PTZ and Others:
  • 30x Zoom Bullet (4.5mm-135mm) w/SD, External Audio & Alarm: SDZW2030S-N
  • Covert Pinhole Camera (2.8mm F2.4) w/SD, External Audio & Alarm: IPC-HUM8230-E1
  • CS Mount Box Camera (no lens) w/SD, External Audio & Alarm: IPC-HF5231E
  • 180 Degree Panoramic MultiSensor w/SD, External Audio & Alarm: IPC-PFW8601-A180
  • Black Face Lite PTZ 25x (4.8mm~120mm) w/SD, External Audio & Alarm: SD49225T-HN
  • Black Face Lite PTZ 12x (5.3mm~64mm) w/SD, External Audio & Alarm: SD49212T-HN
  • White Face Intelligent PTZ 30x (4.5mm~135mm) w/SD, External Audio & Alarm: SD6C230U-HNI
  • Black Face Intelligent PTZ 30x (4.5mm~135mm) w/SD, External Audio & Alarm: SD59230U-HNI
  • Black Face Intelligent PTZ 25x (4.8mm~120mm) w/SD, External Audio & Alarm: SD59225U-HNI
  • Ultra Starlight Dome PTZ 30x (6mm-180mm) w/SD, External Audio & Alarm: SD65F230F-HNI
  • Ultra Starlight Laser IR PTZ 40x (7.9-316mm) w/SD, External Audio & Alarm: SD6AL240-HNI
  • Ultra Starlight Laser IR PTZ 30x (6mm-180mm) w/SD, External Audio & Alarm: SD6AL230F-HNI
  • Ultra Starlight IR PTZ 30x (6mm-180mm) w/SD, External Audio & Alarm: SD6AE230F-HNI

plus more non-IR indoor dome PTZ's that are not appropriate for outdoor use and I cant imagine will be very popular here.
For people new to the video surveillance game, I strongly recommend the varifocal turret to start off with; that way when someone steals your stuff and you come to the realization that wide angle views are not all they are cracked up to be; you can zoom it without replacing the camera.. The varifocals are also the only fixed cams that provide up to 12mm optics..

Unless specified these are all international models and may be available in either PAL or NTSC formats (it makes no difference); english firmware should come from factory and they are firmware updatable.

New Additions:
Ultra
Pro
Eco-savvy 3.0 ePoe

Lite PT(z)
  • 2MP 3x Starlight PTZ Network 2.7mm~8.1mm 3x zoom lens Camera SD12203T-GN
  • 2MP 3x Starlight IR PTZ Network Camera 2.7mm~8.1mm 3x zoom lens SD1A203T-GN
  • 2MP Starlight IR PT Network Camera 3.6/2.8mm lens SD1A200T-GN
  • 2MP Starlight PT Network Camera 3.6/2.8mm lens SD12200T-GN

They have added some USA models as well...these should be available via B&H and Newegg at some point.

The aperture: F2.0 for bullet vs F1.4 for the Turret.. Smaller is bigger in this case.

Still the cheapest Starlight camera of any quality you can get; better than the Longse junk by a long shot

@EMPIRETECANDY, why is the IPC-HDW4231EM-AS and theIPC-HDW5231R-Z priced the same? I would expect the fixed-lens version to be a little bit cheaper..

the mini-bulletIPC-HFW4231Scan be found on AliExpress through another vendor right now for ~$125, the mini-bullets have traditionally been a favorite before the turrets came along.
Will bring down the price later for this one, because we just upload it, because no stock, so we put a higher price for this model. 4 series is cheaper than the 5 series, this is 100%

True but the better low light, sd card, motortized varifocal, audio and turret style make the turret a much better value at 45 dollars more..

If you bring it down to about 120 or so you will not be able to keep it in stock. It will sell like crazy.

you have to have the ipc infront; aliexpress does not do partial matches.. which is very retarded; click his Starlight Store link
Yea I realized that pretty quick, but his listing doesn't use IPC in it, unless it's searching something else, infact, nothing comes up if I search IPC-SD59230U-HNI

SD59230(Zero not O)
That was just a typo on the forum. Copy pasting was formatting weird.

@fenderman, I completely agree but I have existing cameras in place I will be replacing with these.. and changing em all to turrets is not a good option in my case.

I am planing on replacing my Mini Bullet 4300S with a 4321S, and my 4421D-AS with a 4321D-AS, and my 4431M-AS with a 5231E-Z.. the turret im still trying to find a spot for.. I might put it in the kids room cause it looks so nice heh.. eventully the PTZ will be upgraded too; Im digging this sensor.

Since I already have locations and lens sizes carefully chosen, I dont need the varifocal's except where I need more than 6mm.. so save a few bucks while trying new cams, sounds good to me.

@mando209 dont count on it; there hasn't been any to date.. hell this Varifocal Turret is the first turret w/better than 6mm optics.. just be happy about that heh.

Here on the forum we refer to non-dome round cameras as turrets, Dahua calls them eyeballs w/model# indicating its a dome, but thats crap name dont yeh think? The PTZ's without Domes are also Turret PTZ's but someone coined the term Black Face and White Face to distinguish the two big Dahua PTZ forms and they stuck.

We discourage Dome use here; and I would even more so with these really light sensitive cameras.. any kinda dirt/water spots is going to reflect right back in even brighter, and getting the curved dome to flare up off external light is going to be even easier than non starlight domes.. Domes Outside are a bundle of problems typically; and I would have to imagine Starlight Domes are a couple bundles of problems..

We have our own lexicon going on here at ipcamtalk; we have to simplify things for the masses..
