Cameras not recording with audio

Hi all,

I am in a bit of a pickle here. I have three EmpireTech cameras:
Two of the IPC-T54IR-ZE-S3. One is running FW Eng_PN_V3.100.0000000.6.R.20230802, the other is running Eng_PN_V3.100.0000000.5.R.20230509. That is how they came out of the box.
I have one IPC-Color4k-T-2.8mm running. Eng_PN_V3.000.0000000.20.R.20220926 (as it came)

Currently ONLY the T54IR-ZE-S3 that is running firmware Eng_PN_V3.100.0000000.5.R.20230509, can record audio for later playback.
The other two cannot, despite the correct settings being enable. The settings are equivalent across the three cameras. G.711A codec.
I assume the firmware is the problem as that is the only thing that differs between the two hardware identical cameras.

The IPC-T54IR-ZE-S3 running FW Eng_PN_V3.100.0000000.6.R.20230802 also has given me trouble with setting up IVS in the past.

I could not find a the relevant firmware to upgrade the two cameras with the audio recording issues.

I would appreciate it greatly if someone could point me in the right direction.

Make sure the mainstream and substream audio enabled, like the setting below.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately changing the codec to AAC did not fix the problem. The windows MP4 file property still shows no audio data.

Just to the internal SD card for the time being. I have plans to set up BI down the line.

I'd triple check audio settings, making sure Mic at top is selected, and substream are enabled. Reboot

I'm running V3.100.0000000.6.R, Build Date: 2023-08-02 on my two 5442's all working fine.

My 4K-T is running V3.120.0000000.14.R, Build Date: 2023-02-27 without problems
There is newer 2024 FW available on the Dahua site under downloads, where I get 99% of my FW

Ok with the 5442, I did a factory reset via IE. I then initialized and set up as recommended via IE. Audio is now being recorded. You'd never guess which tool I used to set up the camera in the past.
The only bug I encounter still with this camera is that I cannot turn on SMD under the Event tab, unless I turn off Acupick under the AI tab. Something that isn't necessary with the other 5442. Tbh I am not yet sure what the implications of this are. Perhaps I will learn when I set up the system with BI or similar.

As for the 4K-T I will reset when I get a moment later today and report back.
