I've got BI 4.0 running on several Windows 8.1 systems with very little drama. The only real issue I ran into at install time was the failure requiring the VC++ redistributable packages, but the README for Blue Iris 4 indicates what to do in that case.

My problem is with displaying the image from a couple of HD cameras, it's simply a green screen with no image. I've got wireless low def cameras and USB cameras with no problem. But I have 2 Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920 USB cameras that absolutely refuse to display. I tried all of the image format sizes possible and nothing helps. If I use 160x120 at 7.5 frames per sec it show about 10% of the image.

When I use the same exact cameras on the latest BI 3 version at 864x480 and 7.5 frames per sec I get a perfect picture.

For now I switched my website feeder back to BI3.

Incidentally, it's pretty simple to switch back and forth between BI3 and BI4 on the same machine, you just have to pay attention and use the startup from the correct directory.

Timeline

Is the timeline working for anyone with more than 5 cams? I wonder if my one continuous time-lapse cam is messing up the playback?

If I double click on the timeline, it brings up a large window with several cams in small square boxes, and sometime shows activity in 1-2 cams, but most times its just hangs or BI cashes after a few seconds.

Not sure if it's just me....

Loaded .8 and it will not start if the Blueiris service is running. I can start the application if I stop the Service. Double clicking the clips still result in a crash. Also cannot playback recorded clips from the webserver. Running Windows 7 Pro, HP i7 16Gb 1TB with only HomeSeer Home Automation software and BlueIris with 6 cameras (all Foscam).

Well , 4 was working well for me until the push update 10.. since that update I lost the ability to run the time line and select from the individual clips...these were working..... I can run clips from drive. I'm running 9 cams. Otherwise I have not had any other isues ..

I am experiencing a 10% CPU utilization increase from version 3.66.00 to version 4.0.0.10. I am using a i7-4770 with windows 8.1 as the OS.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Are you running the demo mode or paid version of 4?

I have not been monitoring it closely but my CPU usage seems to have dropped from75-85% typically to 45-65% now (Windows 7 Pro, Intel Core i5-2500 Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core, 8GB RAM).

I find this discrepancy interesting..some folks see in increase while others see a decrease. What cameras are you using? Are you recording direct to disk? Bvr format?

I am using the Demo mode of version 4. Could the "demo" overlays be causing this?

There have been reports that when using direct to disk, the cpu use drops when using the paid version over the demo....

Update..after reboot.all working again?.. the time line playback really doubles cpu usage ,with 9 cams my system goes from 39 to 85% ..but it does work well. So no issues with 4.10
