I have a location that needs 10 cameras (going with the Hikvision DS-2CD2043G0-I 2.8mm bullets). Looking to use a 16 CH NVR in case we need to add a few more in the future.
Any recommendations on which model to get? Would like to stay within a tight budget.

Does anyone know if the 8 channel hikvision NVR's allow more than 8 cameras? What about the 4 Channel more than 4? via a poe switch.

I recently setup something similar for a client using the DS-7716, but the DS-7616 could work as well for your scenario. My two cents.

Good to know. So the 8CH DS-7616 is capable of 16 total cameras i'm assuming?

The first two digits stands for the model series and the last two the number of cameras. For example: 7616 is a 7600 series that supports 16 cameras, and 7716 is a 7700 series that supports 16 cameras as well. The "/" at the end of some models says how much PoE cameras (power, etc) they can support. For example the DS-7716NI-Q4/16P can support 16 PoE. So to answer your question: Yes :)
