New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

I'm curious at what height are you guys mounting the doorbell? Trying to find a spot for one and have read anything from 40 to 50+ inches high. How high are you mounting these?

    Ubiquiti dream machine SE

I have the dream router. Software is great. Wifi coverage kinda sucks tho. Just ordered a U6 LR access point and hoping it helps cover my property. Would think you'd want more storage than what comes built in. Can you add a large surveillance specific hard drive to that unit?

    Amazon Delivery Driver

It's been my experience Amazon drivers are generally friendly and happy at their job. Gotta assume Amazon treats their people pretty well. Could be a reason they are as massive as they are. I know there are Amazon haters out there. Anytime I can get obscure items to my door in 2 days is a win in...

Tinycam Monitor PRO Android - 100% dropped frames

No expert here, but did you try using software encoding instead of hardware? As I recall, this helped me with a similar issue.

TP-Link AV600 Powerline Ethernet Adapter with two cameras?

Thanks. I wasn't thinking switch for some reason. I see how that could work. Have an unused 6 port I'll put to good use.

TP-Link AV600 Powerline Ethernet Adapter with two cameras?

I've been using the powerline adapter above to control a camera in a shed about 50-60 feet from the house. I'd like to put another camera in the shed and am wondering if there is a way to use this one adapter to operate two cameras? I have 120v power in the shed, so poe isn't needed. Would just...

    Pre Wire for a friend

Pretty sure the 3/8 is the width of the heat shrink tubing when it's flat. Not sure 3/8 will fit ethernet cable. Anyone know for sure?

    Hikvision DS-2DE4A425IW-DE

I'll see if I can figure that out. But where to buy one? Call me crazy, but I prefer to buy from an authorized retailer or someone like Andy that is trustworthy. Hate buying from unknown sellers.

    Hikvision DS-2DE4A425IW-DE

Bought one of these a few years ago and have been pretty happy with it. I'm looking for another and it seems to have disappeared from the BH Photo site. It doesn't say discontinued, the page is just gone. Anyone know if this is still a current model? If not, have a substitute? The thing I like...

Chap catches dog walker that doesn’t clean up after their dog

So many times I've wanted to do that! Waiting to see someone I recognize. Gonna pick it up, knock on their door and say, your dog dropped this, thought you might want it back.

The monitor connected to the BI pc is an old Dell. Resolution must be pretty low. Scaling is set to Fast. CPU frequency is hovering around 3.8, Base speed is 3.0 It does look like Remote Desktop is responsible for some of the usage. The only other process using cpu of any amount is BI. Which...

I don't send clips at all. Have never used MMS or SMS with this pc or with BI Is this what you wanted to see? On alert and on reset are both empty. Not running BI as a service. Think that's a good idea?

So, the cams switched to night mode and cpu usage dropped to around 20. Drops to below 10 when I minimize BI. Does that tell us anything?

I get the IP thing. It's just simple to do and makes me feel better. lol All cams are on H.264, two of the 5442's are set to Encoding Strategy "general". (the third is an older firmware) and is set to Smart Codec "off". The fourth The Hikvision doesn't have a codec option other than H.264

Thanks for the help. All cams are exactly the same in the video tab. I just posted one. One thing I noticed, not sure if it's related. In the clips tab at the left, I see clips with zeros seconds and often with no data. Sometimes a small amount. They occur at the top of the hour. Say, 1:59:59...

Yes, I have done all that. Did you read the quote at the bottom? Note: If you use sub streams, your CPU usage will likely be low enough that you can ignore this section and run whatever frame rates you want. Regardless, 15 fps vs. 20 fps makes no difference on the cpu.

I have four cameras. Three Dahua 5442s and a Hikvision PTZ. All 4mp. Wi-Fi network for BI with no internet?

I tried Tinycam a I think you may be over-thinking this. I don't recall that it matters which port it's connected to on the switch. Set it up as indicated above. I tried Tinycam a couple years ago when I set up my system and liked it so much, I never even looked at the BI app.

    T5442T-ZE Day/Night settings

Sorry, not meaning to hikack the thread but, I've got about 15 or so insteon switches still in service (that replaced all of my X-10 years ago) and am ready to pull them for something more modern and reliable. Too bad. These switches seem well made and have, for the most part, worked okay. I...

Wi-Fi network for BI with no internet?

Still very much a novice here, however, I attached a separate wireless router to my poe switch (which is connected to nic-2 which has no internet.) I don't currently have any wireless cams, but wanted to use a tablet with tinycam to wirelessly access my wired cams. Is this what you're looking...

    Video Stutter?

Interesting, there seems to be no rhyme or reason to this. The more I've played with things, I see the issue on both of these 5442 cams. One cam is consistent. The other isn't. Same with BI. Sometimes the recorded video is good, other times it stutters as well.
