    Need One More

Having trouble deciding between ...... iDS-2CD7546G0-IZHSY 2.8-12mm and PCI-D14Z2HS 2.8-12mm Data sheets attached. Using it to see front yard and out to the tree line across the road, maybe 100ft distance. I don't see a whole lot of difference between them except one is $200 more and...

Need PTZ joystick for cameras little help

I have this one connected to my NVR. Works great. I have also had it hooked up when I used to use BI and it worked fine then too. https://us.hikvision.com/en/products/accessories/keyboards/usb-keyboard-joystick-ds-1005ki

That's fairly common knowledge but I was never one to ask permission. :)

    Extra Lighting

It's not metered. It's just a monthly charge. $8 a month for the 60W LED .................. if you want it for peace of mind. If you can show that it would actually improve safety, I think I have a case for traffic safety, then no charge. Failing that I could probably buy a solar powered light...

    Extra Lighting

I need more light. My local electric company offers dusk-to-dawn security light installation on existing poles. I was thinking that instead of buying additional lighting or IR illumination I could just have the electric company stick a light on a pole on my property. The choices are: 100-Watt...

LTS (Hikvision) NVR beeping won't stop

I got this same indication (3 long, 2 short) when reconfiguring my layout. It happened as soon as I plugged in a certain camera. I changed its IP address and the beeping stopped. Apparently its original address was in conflict with something on the NVR that already had that address.

    Reconfiguration Time

I have 3 Hikvision cameras, well actually 6 but one unit is a Panovu so has 4 inside it. I also have a spare PC, a switch, an NVR (Hikvision), spare monitor, keyboard, mouse and a wall plate close by with 3 open jacks where I could connect anything directly to my router in another room. I had...

    Horizontal Pixelated Band

Same unit. I went back to IVMS-4200 and don't have any issues. I wish it did work with BI as it was much simpler to use and you don't need an NVR.

    Xprotect 2021 R1Release

I've never had Xprotect and tried to load the latest version several times but it always hangs up on IIS. I get the message that IIS must be loaded manually so I configured it exactly as Milestone shows. Still won't complete install. I have even done as above and completed deleted all remnants...

    Hung Up On IIS

I've downloaded XPro Essential+ and tried to load it several times. It always hangs up on IIS. I've gone to the Milestone site and set up IIS on my machine exactly as it shows on their site. Still no load. Is there possibly an undocumented trick to this?

    Horizontal Pixelated Band

Old topic but an update of sorts. I had to send the unit back to Hikvision a couple times for repairs. After the second time they sent me a whole new unit. I thought maybe the first unit had a bug that made it incompatible with BI so I tried it again with the replacement. Unfortuantely I get the...

    Camera Choices

Thanks for the input. I guess I should have said I don't really need something that's going to zoom in and track on a face on a cloudy night like this guy ...... DS-2DF8C842IXS-AELW plus I couldn't mount that anywhere. Going with your suggestions I think maybe the DS-2CD5546G0-IZHS will work...

    Camera Choices

I have a rental home next door that I need to keep an eye on as it's a magnet for vandals when not occupied. The furthest distance I need to clearly see a face at night is about 120ft. There is a single light source that marginally illuminates about the first 60ft of that. The HFOV I need is...

Incorrect Data To OR From The Device

I have a Hikvision DS-2CD6D54FWD-IZHS running on the latest version of IVMS-4200. I've had the camera since 2019. Everything was working fine until a few days ago. The unit has 4 cameras in it and individually or all together randomly they will drop out and give the subject error. After a minute...

    Events and Equipment Precedence

When setting up events which piece of equipment takes precedence? For example if I set up a Intrusion Detection event on the camera do I also have to duplicate those parameters in the NVR and IVMS-4200 or does one of them over rule the other? thanks

    DS-2DE4A425IW-DE Spec Question

I am considering the purchase of the DS-2DE4A425IW-DE. The Spec Sheet says: Angle of View, Horizontal field of view: 57.6° to 2.5° (wide to tele); vertical field of view: 34.4° to 1.4° (wide to tele); diagonal field of view: 64.5° to 2.9° (wide to tele) When I go to IPVM Camera Calculator V3...

    Accessing Camera GUI

I figured it out. On the Hik NVR webGUI it's Configuration>System>Camera Management>IP Camera A table pops up with all the cameras. The last column is labeled Connect and has each cameras address amended with additional numbers. That will take me to the individual camera webGUI.

    Accessing Camera GUI

Thanks! It's a Hik NVR. It's in my sig now. Never tried that, accessing the NVR GUI. I don't see the blue e though. I can get to individual camera settings through the NVR webGUI but, just as with IVMS, not as much as if you pull up a cameras individual webGUI.

    Accessing Camera GUI

My current setup is Cameras>NVR>PC (IVMS-4200) MY NVR does all the recording. IVMS on my PC only "sees" the NVR and I can adjust some camera settings using IVMS. I would like to access the camera web GUI to get to all of the settings from the PC but not sure how to do it. I'm guessing that in...

    Joystick Control

I have my Hik cameras going into my Hik NVR. The NVR is connected to a PC that runs IVMS-4200. The NVR just acts as the recorder. I have a Hik DS-1005K joystick that I used to use in a different configuration but in the above configuration I can't get it to work. I've plugged it into both USB...

    Router vs Switch

Didn't work with the PC using one of the POE ports but worked after switching it to the LAN port on the NVR. That's pretty slick. I'm running IVMS-4200 but the interface with the cameras is like the Hikvision web GUI instead of IVMS or NVR GUI. I also can access the internet via the same PC's...

I had tried that before but must not have been smart enough to get it to work. I'll give it another go.

    Router vs Switch

Thanks for the response. The cams came with individual inline power units, the correct name escapes me at the moment.

    Router vs Switch

My system consisted of the following, Cameras-NVR-Router-PC. I had used an old spare router just to make that connection between the NVR and PC. The system was not connected to the internet (WiFi or LAN) nor did I want it to be. The router died the other day so I am considering getting a...

    Adding Multi-Cam Units to IVMS-4200

Thanks. I had done that before when I used BI and figured it must be a similar deal but what I did wrong was use the cameras original IP address instead of the IP address assigned to it by the NVR. Now it all works.

    Adding Multi-Cam Units to IVMS-4200

Hello I have a Hik DS-2CD6D54FWD-IZHS. I had it plugged into a switch and could see all 4 cameras of the unit through IVMS. Today I received my Hik NVR DS-7608NI-I2 and hooked up that same camera unit to it but could only see one of the four cameras. I then hooked up the NVR into the switch and...

    iVMS-4200 Storage Server

Partitioned the HDD on my dedicated CCTV machine. Gave the Storage Server it's own drive and "formatted" it per the instructions. It did well recording trigger events for about 4 hours but hasn't recorded anything for a couple days though I can see when my cameras trigger on motion detection...
