Ya, I was fortunate that the router we are using has OpenVPN installed, so I was able to set that up and then connect on the VPN to hit the IP Address... Not sure it makes anything any safer with P2P open or not, but since its an HOA and its not only me who needs access, I can't just make it...

SmartPSS is using the P2P option, I don't know of a way to do that on a Windows PC....I use the IP address, thus the VPN is needed...

I figured it out, it was that I had to select teach camera channel individually, so I did a copy settings to all. Ya, I'm not connected to the network the cameras are on, so using SmartPSS is my easiest option that seems to do what I need it to do...

I've got an EmpireTechNVR with 5442 cameras and although I've selected Motion Detection in the schedule, the cameras all continuously record. Not sure what setting I missed, but I think I've checked everything for Motion record and not continuous record. Anyone able to pint me to a hidden menu...

I have an NVR5XXX-16P with two identical 5442's. They appear to have the same camera settings, yet in SmartPSS they show up one full in the box, the other chopped. Can't figure out why. Any help

Came here looking for the same thing, wanted to confirm in 2023 that this still works. I think its archaic and terrible you have to install a chinese plugin, who knows what data it is stealing, but it works...

The cameras all dropped down into the bottom half, and the one I configured is working properly, so I know my configuration for the 5442's is correct. Now I need to investigate the wiring. Appreciate the help all!

So I was able to get into one of the old IPPower (Hikvision) cameras with the default username and password. I set the IP address to the new subnet and plugged it into the new NVR It shows up in this list, but its not being added to the bottom of the page.

I have done this, and don't have the login info of the camera, as it does not have the same password as the old NVR that it was connected to. So no idea what the password would be for the camera...

I saw all of the 5442's on the bench with the new NVR...not sure what you are asking??

Just out of curiositiy, does anyone know who the maker of IPPower camera is? Is it a rebranded verison of a dahua or something? Not sure what the default username / password would be on the off chance the NVR didn't set it..

I thought about that, but since I have already setup the "new" cameras on the 10.1.1.XX address range, I don't want to blow myself out of the water there. If I did set it to 10.0.0.XX, don't I still need to factory reset them to pick up the new NVR password? Won't the cameras still be using...

The "older" caemras I have are from an old NVR that gave out a 10.0.0.XX address, this new NVR gives out a 10.1.1.XX address. the old cameras are locked to the 10.0.0.XX address it seems, and the only way to get them to go back to a default address is to factory reset them. They are not Dahua...

Played around a little bit and I think I'll have to pull the camera down to reset it. I guess I should have put it in bride mode so that I could set the IP Addresses and passwords manually....

If its a Dahua camera, I believe the default IP Address should be 192.168.1.108. The DHCP of the router has to be giving out the 192.168.1.X address, otherwise the router won't see the camera. I had this happen to me on my Dahua NVR and had to change the IP Address of the NVR to the...

Got a new NVR, setup the cameras to bench test them. Put one out in the field and although the calbes are hooked up, nothing is received on the NVR. Thee other cameras are older and a different IP Address and password so out of luck there I think My question, if I take that one new camera...

How does putting the NVR into bridge mode help? I read your thread but don't really understand why it would matter? Are you saying that if you assign the IP Address per camera then the port on the NVR doesn't matter?

Kind of a tangent, but how did you mount the NVR? Would love to put it on the wall, but the only points I see are used by the HDD's screws....

So, as an update, I got my NVR today and plugged things in. Turns out the port seems to assign the IP Address, I can swap camera 1 and 3 in ports 3 and 1 respectively and whatever was showing as camera 1 in port one shows as camera 3 in port three. So the camera doesn't seem to have any memory...

Hoping that doesn't happen...
