Upgrading from 4, Can't get BI 5 to run at all

Long time BI user from back in the 1.0 and 2.0 days... Currently running BI 4 as a service. Firstly, I am logged into Windows 10 as admin, the sole account on this machine. Not a local account but also signed into Microsoft. I have backed up my BI 4 settings and so far, have not uninstalled...

More dash cam action - likely distracted driver... or asleep at the wheel?

Bed cover is a Pace Edwards Jackrabbit retractable. Works great. A big trunk when you need it.... or a truck bed when you need it. :-) I almost thought he was going to be able to recover it but then there was that sign. Game over.

More dash cam action - likely distracted driver... or asleep at the wheel?

This just happened about an hour ago. I was merging on Rte 15 south from Rte 26 in Frederick MD and this Acura SUV just lost control, went off the road, took out a road sign and then nosed into the guardrail in the median. Totally on his own, unencumbered and unmolested by traffic. Pretty...

Lorex NVR or similar with Hughsnet

I'll check ZT out, but BI is not an option at this place. No PC present.

Lorex NVR or similar with Hughsnet

So, looking into this further I believe these current NVR systems like Lorex and Night owl have optional P2P setups so you don't need to know the ip address, have ports open or VPN, or have DDNS. Works like ReoLink, KasaCam and such where the devices "reach out" via a 3rd party server to be...

Lorex NVR or similar with Hughsnet

We have a remote property that I need to set up a small NVR system for. I have tried a few stand alone ip cams and while they will send alerts they can not be viewed live or accessed remotely for admin on Hughes. Which makes it a royal pain to dial in motion detection. Thinking about a small...

    Near head on collision

Finishing a 1000 mile road trip on a country road about 10 miles from home... this distracted clown was pretty much fully in my lane at one point having his right side tires on the centerline. I almost had to bail into the farm field on the right. This is why we have dash cams.

What dash cam are you using?

I've had my Viofo for awhile now and it works pretty well. It seems to take videos in small clips instead of one continuous video for each start and stop cycle. Not sure why that is... I need to dive into the manual I suppose. Here are a coupe of clips of an arsehole driver today... full rear...

What dash cam are you using?

Look at it this way, if something happened that you cared about you would immediately pull the SD card to save the files to your computer and/or send them to the authorities. If nothing important happened you leave the SD card in and someone steals it... who cares. If they wanted to watch them...

What dash cam are you using?

I have audio recording turned off. Simple one button to turn it on if and when needed.

What dash cam are you using?

I just installed a Viofo A129 Duo Pro. This supplements my old Esky unit that still works and I will leave in the vehicle if I ever sell it. The Esky is the stealthy one that you hide the head unit and mount the little cams to the glass. My head unit is in the glove compartment. This Esky...

BlueIris iPhone app not connecting via VPN

Just to follow up on this... It seems to be Comcast and Hughes blocking my Open VPN setup on the client end. I have Comcast on my home network using a Linksys router and the native onboard Open VPN server. I can access BI and remote desktop anywhere on my iPhone when I am connected to my VZ...

BlueIris iPhone app not connecting via VPN

Yup, mine was also rock solid until this weekend. One possible issue was that when it first failed I was on wifi at a house with Hughes satellite internet service. I suspected it might not work there and it didn't. But I thought it would come back once I was back in the "world" but it...

BlueIris iPhone app not connecting via VPN

Oh, for additional data, whilst I was remote I rebooted the BI server PC and rebooted the router from my laptop remote desktop app. That didn't restore iPhone BI or RD connectivity.

BlueIris iPhone app not connecting via VPN

LOL... I am home and BI connected just fine from the iPhone since I am on the LAN via wifi. So just for giggles I turned wifi off and tried again via 4G LTE to pretend I am remote and it works. After not working at all for 3 days via LTE or friends' wifi networks. No settings have changed. I...

BlueIris iPhone app not connecting via VPN

This is really not a BlueIris issue, probably more of an iPhone issue and/or VPN issue, but I am wondering if anyone here might have gone through this and have an easy solution. I have OpenVPN set up on my router and have been remotely accessing BlueIris via my laptop and iPhone for a long...

No pre- and post- event pictures?

I have had a few interesting alerts lately on my 5442 ZE. I have it set up for human detection and to send a photo via e-mail. A couple times the photo had no evidence of a human or anything else out of the usual. Being curious I reviewed the video only to see they were NOT false alerts, just...

Cool... I didn't know BI could do that. I'll set that up next chance I get.

best way to get important notifications

Yes, I have BI and have SMS alerts. But BI has too many falses to let through the DnD.

best way to get important notifications

It'd be a lot easier if Dahua would add an SMS server. Or if Apple allowed an emergency bypass for e-mail alerts from VIP contacts. I am still looking to see if that might be possible somehow.

best way to get important notifications

Hey, that looks like that might be the answer. Apple has a back asswards way of getting that enabled... at least for my brain. A simple setting in DnD like enable VIP alerts must have been too easy.

best way to get important notifications

And it still doesn't matter because SMS alerts can't be white listed.

best way to get important notifications

The Dahua doesn't have SMS... but it wouldn't matter anyway since the iPhone SMS alerts are handled the same as e-mail. You can pick a custom tone but you can't whitelist specific senders in the do not disturb setup.

best way to get important notifications

So I am really liking the Dahua AI human detection enough that I want to make it the primary alert. I have the SMTP set up and that works fine, but I have my iPhone on do not disturb at night. The iPhone allows one to whitelist callers to let VIP calls bypass the do not disturb but...

    another Dahua AI question

And here is an example of one version of the headlight issue... I recently redid the motion setup for this HIK cam in BI and it looks like I may have missed a bit of masking either behind the stair rails or on the lawn. I had 4 alerts last night with the lights in exactly the same spot. And...

    another Dahua AI question

Or MJF on his back to the future hoverboard! I really want one of those. As for he garbage trucks, we get them twice a week and that surely would send human detects... and wouldn't be a problem using full field human detect... it would be a good routine system op check. My problem would be...
  27. R

    another Dahua AI question

Wow, Now that is cool. My goal with this front would be human only and even then I'd mask off the sidewalk, at least in day profiles, to avoid passersby causing alerts. One small problem area is the neighbor's driveway. The LOS to that gets a part of my stairs, but probably not enough to be a...

    another Dahua AI question

I am really liking the AI human detect performance on the rear deck Dahua so far... so I was wondering how it would perform in totally opposite type of scene that I have up front. Situation is a townhouse with the cam mounted in the upper corner of the garage opening facing a street... not a...

Dahua IVS working great so far

No, the false positive and photo above was from BI, NOT the Dahua. The Dahua IVS totally ignored this. That was the point, to show how the IVS did a better job of that scene. I'll have a look at the intrusion settings you mentioned sometime but I am thinking that full field IVS "human"...
