Freedom flying by house
A Chinook flew by my house yesterday and although I didn't see it, it sounded like a Chinook. Two more flew by today and was able to capture it on the SD49225XA-HNR.- kolt_

Blue iris does not seem to be using GPU
I currently have Blue Iris installed on a Windows 10 VM on Proxmox with a Tesla P4 passed through. I set hardware accelerated decode to Nvida NVDEC and even set Hardware decode to the same thing for each camera, however, my CPU usage still is around 60-70% with lots of frame loss. Is this...- kolt_

Help with LPR settings ... Please!
I see. Just trying different things, see what works and doesn't. I tried dropping sharpness down to 4 & 20 and got blurry images. Without messing with sharpness on night profile, license plates are pretty readable as it is with standard settings with 1/1000 shutter so maybe I should just... -

Do you keep your sharpness at the same level during day time? Or do you run the night profile at all times? I recently got the IPC-B5442E-Z4E from Andy and I am trying to maximize readability of license plate captures. -
Stupid question invoving shutter speed
I got another camera and been setting it up. I accidentally set the shutter speed to 333.33-333.33ms and the picture understandably went white and I reverted it. Would that damage the camera in any way or is that fine and have no effect? Thank you. -

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I thought since it's away from the elements then it should be fine. Sometimes the garage door is open for long parts of the day but it shouldnt get direct sunlight -

Considering getting the SD22204UE-GN, a dome PTZ camera, to place inside a pole barn as it's a good fit. I understand domes are not great for long term use due to the dome itself causing glare and what not but I was wondering if this applies to indoor use as well? Just collecting thoughts... -
FTP server test doesn't seem to be working
Thank you for the help. Blue Iris confirmed that they do not currently support SSH however they have it in their research list. Also the IP is to an off-site storage server, nothing local- kolt_

Would this do for license plate captures?
I was playing around with the SD49225XA-HNR the other day and had the great idea of trying to capture license plates just for fun as I have seen other people on here doing it with more equipped cameras. A 2MP camera running 1/2500 - 1/3000 shutter speed really gives a good image of plates on... -

Fox captured on cam
First couple weeks running the IPC-T3241T-ZAS and after reviewing clips from last night, I found something interesting. At first glance, I thought it was a cat but it was a fox. Given where I live, I expect to see more wildlife on the cameras.- kolt_

Outdoor mounting question
I was just looking at the pfb203w for mounting it to the wall. I have a similar camera coming and I want to mount it to the eve. Would I need a bracket for that if it's under the eve or would be okay if it was mounted directly under the eve withoit the bracket. Thanks- kolt_

I was looking at the IP5M-T1179EW-28MM before considering any of the Dahuas. They look nice for the price, I might buy a couple in the future to mount around my house and see how they work. -

Actually just cancelled both my orders for the 2231 and the 2431 on Amazon, bought the 3241 from the IPcamtalk store. Only $9 more, worth it for the mic and potentially better image quality. Trying to figure out what to buy instead of the 2431 considering the senor size at around that price range. -
