Always disable auto reboot on cameras

I think the manufacture set this option to reboot once a week just in case their camera run into some issues. I just got my system up and running and still learning as I configure them.. I do plan to disable the weekly reboot.

How to secure Dahua Turret Camera dome body from adjustable

On some of the location that I plan to install is about 10 feet high. With multiple cameras that I plan to install, it is very high chance that some cameras may be able to see other camera locations.. so yes, if someone would be messing with the cameras, some other camera would have caught them.

How to secure Dahua Turret Camera dome body from adjustable

Hi I just bought a Dahua Turret Camera DH-IPC-HDW44A1EN for testing and evaluation. The dome body (camera ball) are made of metal but I was disappointed with the Dome enclosure and the Dome pedestal made of plastic. It take some practice to disassemble the Dome pedestal from the Dome...

    Hikvision DS-7716NI-SP/16

If using Hikvision camera, I would use the Hikvision NVR such as the 7716NI-I4/16P. but your Hikvison camera is 4MP, and the 7716NI-I4/16P incoming bandwidth is only 160Mbps. So you are probably some how limited by the bandwidth. I like the Dahua NVR as some of the model they have with built...

Dahua NVR5832-16P-4KS2 and 8 TB drives

    1) do you connect the 2 POE switch to the 2 ports POE on the NVR (kind of like expand more ports?) If your NVR can only support 16 Channel, by expanding more POE ports (i.e. connect more than 16 cameras) can the NVR see more than 16 cameras? 2) Have you tried loading firmware released from...

Dahua NVR5832-16P-4KS2 and 8 TB drives

@Daybreak, did you buy the US version NVR or did you buy from Aliexpress? do you use external PoE switch or PoE is build in the NVR? I am also leaning towards Dahua NVR.

    Hikvision DS-7716NI-SP/16

@Viking967 I think which (either Dahua or Hikvision) NVR depends on how many cameras, type of cameras and if you will need build in POE switch.

Looking to put together a decent BI computer for HD Cameras

Looking at some NVR where they publish their specification for incoming/outgoing bandwidth. If buying a PC to run BI, Is there a specific type of motherboard to meet the incoming/outgoing bandwidth?

    Hikvision DS-7716NI-SP/16

I am also learning as well.. I think it depends on what kind of camera, MP, total number of camera and bandwidth. 7716 seems to max at 160MB/s incoming bandwidth. Dahua has some model that is 320MB/s

What lens focal length would you choose for this scenario?

I think a 2.8mm probably will work best.
