I have a NVR4208-8P-4Ks2 NVR and 3 IPC-HDW5231R-ZE Cameras. I hooked up a monitor and can see the cameras on it.
I can't seem to get them to show up on my Desktop Computer. I thought all you had to do was enter the IP address into the browser and that would be it.
I've searched and read stuff and don't know what to do..
I really need a step by step..

Thanks, Joe

Yes, that's correct.
Given that the browser is IE11 and can therefore have installed the plugin that the NVR will require for video streaming and some other features.
And that the IP address of the NVR is in the same range as the PC is using.

What happens when you use the NVR IP address in the browser?
What is the IP address of the NVR?
What is the IP address of the PC?

When I type the NVR iP 192.168.1.108 into the search window it opens up a bunch of Google search results..

It says the site can not be reached.. "It took too long to respond"

OR the NVR and computer are not plugin to the same network.
Is the NVR connected to the network using the correct RJ45 port. Not the POE ports on the NVR.
If your cameras are plugged into a switch, the only thing that can be plugged into the switch is the NVR.

Provide a detailed network drawing of your set up.

That suggests that either the IP address is incorrect, or that web services are not running on that address.

How do you know that is the IP address of the NVR?
Does that address respond to a ping command?

I assume that this is the IP address...IMG_20180827_193140.jpg

I have three cameras plugged into 3 of the 8 ports on the NVR and the cable going to the router is plugged into the other single port..

Does the PC and the NVR show up in the Asus router ?

It looks like the PC is there but not the NVR...

I have to call it a night.. I appreciate all you and allistars help..

i'm going to replace the cable from the NVR to the Router..

Maybe we can try again tomorrow..

Thanks Again, Joe

Yes, it is, you are correct. That's the LAN port of the NVR, Ethernet port 1.

That's the LAN port by itself?
Does the 'link detect' light show on the router port the cable is connected to?

Yes.. that light does blink occasionally..

Looks like I have to figure out why the NVR is not listed as a device in the Router...

With everything hooked up power cycle the NVR. Power off, wait one minute power on.

Well.. That seems to have done it.. Thanks

OK, so now I can see my cameras on the Web Service.. What's the best programs to use for remote and mobile access?
