As promised here is the updated day testing video + I also show the active deterrence feature in action along with the new ‘inside’ option for your Intrusion Zone config that allows you to set duration and sensitivity of targets within the zone. As always be sure to choose 4K when playing back (Watch in YouTube directly). Overall I think the changes to light handling in this FW has also helped the day image. Again certainly allows me to dial it in further for a more accurate image in cam.

Will look to get a comparison of these 2 (for night performance) as soon as I can. There are a lot of differences between these cams that anyone considering either one should be aware of. Therefore have created a quick table below just on the differences for now to assist.

As mentioned before, I’ve used a lot of Hik’s over the years and while some cams (dark fighters etc) have been great, there’s not that many in the current catalog (and those that I’ve used recently) that have wowed me for a number of reasons. That's not to say Hik doesnt make some great cams but for me there are only a few that I would recommend and those tend to be in the higher model/price range.
Therefore going into this ColorVu with an open mind as always and will be very interested to see (as I'm sure all of you will) how the Hik and Dahua stack up in the area of color at night.
More on this soon, stay tuned !
Note: I will be including all links to all videos in the original post too for easy reference going forward. Also look out for the dive bombing bird
