I read through the Wiki and it referred to a “post #18”, but not sure what thread that was in reference to. Also coming up with a lot of older posts regarding this, so not sure if something more recent is available or if this camera is just getting too old. I have the English version, brand new, but I don’t want to use it unless I can update it first. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Which cube camera? There are multiple series, with different firmware.
If it's the original R0 series DS-2CD2432F-IW, there is a good set of firmware here :
