For the Hikvision cameras with built in SD card, can I use it to capture motion triggers automatically to the SD card and have it overwrite old data when full in a standalone install?
Background - I have some cheap Dlink 930 cameras and love them other than their narrow FOV. I also have a FLIR FX camera - love the clarity, WIDE FOV, hate the motion triggers at night when nothing is going on. I only use these cameras to email me snapshots pre/post trigger events. If the email looks interesting, I go to the FLIR FX app and look at the 1.5 min video capture to see what really happened.
Problem is the FLIR FX, I cannot go back very far as the log is filled with triggers at night when nothing is happening. Not so keen on the data going into the cloud, the logging isn't very long with the free service and power consumption is high. Another oddity is when viewing a live image, it won't save motion triggers.
So, here's what I'd like:
- Keep the Dlink cameras to email me when something happens (could get rid of them if the Hikvision does this job well)
- Add a Hikvision with onboard SD card (dome, bullet or turret). Set it up to record motion to the SD card and when full overwrite the oldest data.
- If I see something interesting from the Dlink camera, remote into the Hikvision, pull up the video and watch it. If interesting, download the video to a local drive.
- Will a Hikvision 2032F-I do this? What about one of the turrets? (I don't see any that come in an 'F' version).
- can I set a pre and post trigger record time?
- any particular FW version to get or avoid?
Thanks in advance.
