Be prepared to pay an 5-10x and have very limited options.
Arecont Made in America but many would argue the quality is poor at least with some models.
Axis is made outside of china.
Avigilon makes cameras in canada and the US.
I’m prepared to pay a bit of a premium for US/Canada-made, but want quality to go along with that.

Its not a "bit of a premium" its 5-10x and you are generally stuck with dome or bullet form factors, not turrets. The Arecont bullets are particulary terrible because of the IR around the lens - youll spend your nights clearing spider webs.
The chinese brands are extremely reliable. You will not be able to notice a difference in longevity between an international dahua/hik model and one of these expensive brands. Failure is very rare.
Things are produced in Asia these days because that is where the skilled labor is thanks to decades of practice. And the supply chain, and everything else. It is a lot more expensive and harder to build something new and great over here in the USA now.
Ditch the idea that US/Canada-made are better because they're not. The only thing matters is you might be contributing more to the local economy.
It's all about hiring, training, skill, working attitude, responsible, quality control... but not where.

I wouldn't worry about Chinese cameras.
If the security risk is a concern then you should get decent networking gear and secure their in bound and out bound data.
Cameras can't spy on you if they can't send the footage somewhere.

At this rate we will all soon be wholly dependant on China for just about anything. Its a shame that the USA and Europe can't produce quality products at any where near the price that the Chinese can. Not an anti-China rant but where did all this technology originate in the first place....
The question is are you willing to lower your wage and sacrifice some rights at work? when people can't even sacrifice some rights to stay home.
If labor cost is anywhere close to what's in China, companies for sure will consider to move their factory back... if possible.
Labor cost includes minimum wage, possibilities of strikes, working attitude, working hours, skills required, unions... those are all at disadvantage in USA and Europe.
And also cannot beat the supply chains of parts in China. The manufacturing cost will be higher if not everything readily available locally.
You are quite right but I think some of the problem lies in consumers no longer willing to pay a fair price for anything. Its a case of "we want something", "we want it right now" and "it better be cheap" -regardless of what the negative impact might be on our own workers, our environment etc etc.
Also, it seems to me that whilst the likes of Apple etc just see cheap Chinese labour as a way of increasing their profits the Chinese meanwhile are learning quick and already beating western manufacturers at their won game - the apparent lack of any decent security cameras at anywhere near the price of Chinese equivalents are surely an example of that? Lets not get too paranoid about all this but the writings on the wall?
Well, I think we need dramatically reduce our dependence on China and should be voting with our wallet. It’s possible to have manufacturing outside of China at a competitive price. I look forward to having more options as we decouple from China. With the US and Japan and others working to move companies outside of China, this will cause an already slowing Chinese economy even further. At some point, it may not be so cheap to deal with China.

They about 45% more expensive on the lower ranges but the stability, security and support make up for it.
They have exception video quality, both recorders and cameras don't seem to have any known vulnerabilities, AI and integration with most popular brands, north bound interfaces as it uses SQL for events.
Worth a look at it. I know that the have offices in the UK, Europe and US

Aside from the fact that they have a very limited number of form factors, large bullets or domes, I am certain the pricing is way more than 45 percent higher than purchasing international models from china when comparing cameras of similar specs. Grab a few examples and post the actual price.
I'm guessing you need to abide by some NDAA stuff. Apparently around august any US DOD Contractor using Chinese made / manufatured etc cams pretty much can't do business with the DOD.
I've got a bunch of LTS and Hikvision i'm changing out. I've replaced a bunch with Bosch but it seems those maybe in question if they meet NDAA or not. I picked up a few Honeywell 30 Series for testing. The pricing isn't bad if you go through an distributor, The prices online are higly inflated at like amazon ,newegg, B&H. The Honeywells are very well priced and even say on their website they are NDAA compliant. This is probably what you are looking for.

Very helpful indeed. But if you take a close look at their “ball” (turret) cameras, they appear to be Dahua 5231 varifocal units.
