Just as a reference, I pay 30.2% tax in total in sweden on my income. No extra fees anywhere on top of that. "Free" health care, schools, university, no tolls etc.
Tax calculations and how that effects overall personal expenses vs provided services can get pretty complicated. I’m certainly not an expert but interesting you say that.

My company is owned by a Swedish firm. I know some Swedes in business and am good friends with our Swedish CFO. And let me say they are by and large great folks and a lot of fun.

My understanding is that they pay approx 30% up to 490k kroner which is roughly let’s call it $60k income. After that, they pay an additional 20% on anything over 490k kroner. (Kroner is about .12 US$)

On top of the Social tax then there is VAT:
“The Swedish VAT system is harmonised with the EU rules. The general VAT rate of 25% is chargeable on most goods and services. Reduced rates apply to a few goods and services, such as hotel accommodation, foodstuffs (excluding alcoholic beverages), restaurant meals, and low or non-alcoholic drinks (12%), as well as newspapers, magazines, books, e-books, passenger transport, maps, musical notes, some cultural services, transport in ski lifts, etc. (6%). Certain financial and insurance services are exempted from VAT.”

Roughly. VAT depends on what you buy and varies between 6%-25%.

Nice that you work at a Swedish firm

One fun time was when they brought the entire upper management team over to the States for a week. I was asked to take them all pistol shooting for a day and run them through a condensed version of our defensive pistol class.

They had a great time! And it was fun getting to know the CEO, Chairman etc in an outdoor setting. Afterwards we went for good Texas BBQ. 5 years later I still get the occasional email from one of them telling me what a great time they had.

(It’s a very large company in Sweden and Europe, I think you would know of them)

This, in my opinion, was the single biggest mistake that Donald Trump made when he first took office. He should have purged them as well.....learn from the DEOMONCRACKS!

Biden quickly purges Trump allies from Voice of America, parent agency: reports
Two VOA officials were reportedly escorted from the building by security last week

Because of COVID. They've all but shut the Hospitals down to most routine operations to protect people and stop the spread of COVID.
Oh,...so the 18 month waiting period from 2008 to 2019 (pre-COVID) was just...due to...what?

Trump pretty much just ignored it and let 25 Million Americans become infected and let 500,000 die. Probably many more given many cases go reported as other causes.
You have no idea what you're talking about, other than quoting some UK rag headline..read below if you care to.

Your beloved U.K allowed almost TWICE, yes TWICE...as many people to die from COVID based on number of deaths per case:
  • U.S. = 417,000 deaths in 25,000,000 cases = .017 deaths per million
  • U.K = 97, 329 deaths in 3,620,000 cases = -.027 deaths per million
Doesn't sit well does it, hearing your country's leader "ignored" and "allowed" people to die. Of course, he didn't...any more than your country's leadership did.
It was and is a first-time pandemic, never dealt with by the world NOR Trump. The person, persons or country at fault, if you feel you must blame someone, is CHINA!!

Maybe you should be questioning why your country will go to war with another country over the death of just 1 American but let 1/2 a million (500,000) die at home.
By that logic, the U.S. should never have sent troops in WWII to Europe, including England, to die on foreign soil.

We'll never know the outcome had that not happened, will we? Or do you prefer to speculate about that, too?

Exactly.
And by the way, the only metric that counts is deaths per million population
UK- 1429
US- 1288

Patriots Rally at Bed, Bath and Beyond in South Florida for ‘My Pillow’ Founder Mike Lindell (VIDEO)

"....Karyn and dozens of patriotic Americans protested at the local Bed, Bath and Beyond after the company announced earlier this week they they would discontinue carrying the “My Pillow” products after the CEO Mike Lindell spoke about against voter fraud in the 2020 election.

The cancel culture movement is now working to bankrupt and ruin anyone who dares to speak out against the nonsense of the far left...."

Guess I need to order some of Mike's nice pillows......
