Upgrading firmware through /ISAPI/System/updateFirmware

has anyone ever upgraded their firmware through the isapi interface?

is it as simple as


curl -X PUT http://user:password@ipaddy/ISAPI/System/updateFirmware < digicap.dav

?

I have a baker's dozen of cameras to update and doing it through the web interface is a PITFA.

The documentation shows this:

but there is no definition as to what "opaque data" means.

Glad that it works OK for you.
It's pretty handy to do detailed camera configuration on Chinese menus, as well as lots of other things.
