So I decided to update my original IPC-HDW5231RP-Z 2MP STARLIGHTS TO THE NEW IPC-T5442TM-AS 4MP Starlights and thought i'd post some comparison pictures to help out those that are on the fence. The added pixels not only give me a better picture but also cover more area. The cameras stay in color about 2 hours longer than the older ones and the IR isnt even triggered on the front yard one anymore with the new camera.

Awesome. The resolution and color gamut is much better than what you had. Is it a higher bitrate as well?

You need to go in and check/set bitrate, exposure etc on each camera.
You're right I have to check those before I forget. I did look at some of the recorded video and everything seemed adequate. No ghosting from exposure.

You are killing me, now I will have to upgrade my two driveway cams.

I could use the 2mp cameras in other areas.
I will probably wait a bit, maybe for some varios, if they will show up.

You buy 4mp camera and replace the 2mp one.

Is it just me or does the pick-up truck look blue in the 2mp pic and kind of green in the 4mp pic?

Any night time comparison pics?

I put my newer 4MP (5442's) 8' above ground to replace my 2MP. I decided to keep the 2MP for 20' above ground general wide angle overview. Comes in handy.
