unable to get out of the chinese firmware ds-2cd2732f-I

I am at wits end I can't get rid of the chinese software! The camera came with version v5.2 140721. I can;t downgrade to 5.1 as it fails during the install. I tried the TFT tool but it finds the camera but wont transfer files. How do i get out of this mess!

where exactly and from who did you get this camera from

Ebay direct from china.....I;ve read all the work arounds, but the chinese firmware comes up with a yelllow triangle during the install and stops.

I cant cant TFT tool to work, my pc wont let me connect to it. I disabled all my firewalls, installed it in the root directory set the ip address to 192.0.0.128 and nothing....plugged in the camera directly to my pc. etc

Connect via a network switch, or if connecting direct to a pc then you may need to use a crossover cable.

I tried..with a switch and windows xp on a laptop, still nothing..

Do you have another Hik camera to check out your TFTP setup with? Your PC doesn't connect to the TFTP server, it runs it after you've installed it.
With the PC and the camera connected to the same switch, start the TFTP server.
At the PC command prompt, use 'ping 192.0.0.128' to confirm your PC is responding at that required address.
When the ping completes, use 'ping -t 192.0.0.64' and power up the camera. You should see the camera respond as it starts up. It should at that point start to connect to the TFTP server, should show on its status.

The ping comes up for both address's but the tft server window just sits there empty. Thanks for your help.

As the camera is responding to pings..

10 power the camera down
20 power the camera up
30 wait
40 if server starts then goto 60 else
50 goto 10
60 end

Maybe

dodgy basic.. but hey, its bin 100 years, lol

Are you absolutely convinced that you have the TFTP server set up as per the Hikvision instructions? We've seen posts that show that the TFTP server and the firmware must be in the same folder.
