This bird must really not like my camera

My hunch:
The bird sees a bird in the camera. Himself.
And it's mating season, so the bird is fighting off perceived competition, ie: another suitor.
Or maybe your house is painted in bird colors....

Agree, most likely thinking it is a place to nest. I have a camera mounted under an eave and the same thing is happening. The camera has had a starling (looks like the same type as the one on your cam) take a run at the camera two or three times.

I have a couple of wild guesses:

The birds see a reflection of something like a worm or bug in the lens and then try to go after it.
Or, the IR LEDs look like something worth eating like small berries.

One was doing that at our entrance camera this week.

Bullet cam?
It appears the bird was looking for a nesting place, maybe not attracted to lens (a mirror) or IR leds...

They drilled into the front facade columns a couple of years ago. They're now living in it. I don't have the heart to turn them out.
I hear ya. I've been meaning to evict 2 families from my siding from last year. They are likely gone, hopefully no new tenants are already in there.
