Nice pictureAgree, most likely thinking it is a place to nest. I have a camera mounted under an eave and the same thing is happening. The camera has had a starling (looks like the same type as the one on your cam) take a run at the camera two or three times.

Yes, my siding is cedar, and I have my share of encounters with woodpeckers.Just be glad it's not a f-ing woodpecker. THAT was a wake-up call at 0500 sharp.

I hear ya. I've been meaning to evict 2 families from my siding from last year. They are likely gone, hopefully no new tenants are already in there.They drilled into the front facade columns a couple of years ago. They're now living in it. I don't have the heart to turn them out.
