Hopefully an OK place to post my question.
My situation is I have a very short deadline to analyse the pedestrian traffic outside my home, specifically at and near a T intersection with one crosswalk on the through street. Regular MD picks up too many vehicles and I doubt IVS could handle the number of potential pedestrians zones and directions.
Without a system already in place I tried to use a camera I already have, an IPC-HFW4239T-ASE with SMD, and connected it to my Synology SS. SS will allow me to configure for SMD 'Human', but detection triggers never happen. Looking around I see hints that maybe SMD is not 100% supported by SS, or maybe just not with this older camera.

- Maybe this camera will work in Blue Iris or Frigate? Not sure I have enough time to learn and configure them.
- Maybe a newer Dahua camera will work with Synology SS?
- Maybe it's just a magic combination of settings I'm not aware of?
