Did you ever get a chance using this firmware, DH_SD-Eos-Civil_MultiLang_PN_Stream3_V2.800.0000000.5.R.190827.zip ? According to Andy, its the latest firmware, but not sure if it has presets or not.

Let me know

Not currently using it. No presets found.

Any update on this one? Looking for a small bullet camera to overlook car on street (which will be parked differently each day). Need it to be discrete but given from a 2nd floor height, this looks like a potential candidate.

Wondering about an update also. Did any firmware updates bring presets and usable IVS?

Wondering this, myself. This cam has always struck me as having potential. (I'll describe the application below.)

In particular, wondering about...

Swap mount for ceiling or wall configuration with removal of 4 screws.
Does that mean the loosened bit shown below can be reattached at 90° to what the rest of the photos show, facilitating soffit or ceiling mount?

Looney,
Did you have smart IR on?
As stated, I left the the cam at factory defaults for testing... so no, it was in zoompriority.
Is that what prompted Arjun to ask...

Face washes out when getting close to camera, does this have the Smart IR issue as well?
@looney2ns, have you tested this cam with Smart IR on?

My application:

Have a shed ±100 feet from one back corner of the house. That side of the house is currently not covered by any cameras. Was thinking of throwing one of these on the shed and aiming it back at the house. It would look more-or-less like this with the PTZ1C203UE-GN at 3x:

Would probably do that only when we were going to be away from the house. The rest of the time leave it zoomed out to catch more backyard wildlife :)

(Btw: Those trees have since been elevated. A lot.)

I'm surprised this cam is getting so little love. Nothing even from the reviewer or seller, much less the few users who've bought it. I guess I'll move on... again ¯\(ツ)

For what ever reason, I just now saw notifications for this thread.
@Dramus
See the picture below the one you copied, in OP, for the mount being in the ceiling mount orientation.

No new firmware that I'm aware of.

As stated, IR was set for zoom priority.

If you like, I will dig it out and check the SmartIR.

Hmmm... Maybe you didn't click on prior notifications and the forum doesn't send more until you do?

Anyway: Thanks for the follow-up!

Ah. Ok. You took that one so close-up I did not realize that's what that was :) Thanks!

If the spirit moves you I'd be much obliged.

Ok, so this test is with the original firmware, not the new one that @EMPIRETECANDY was able to find yesterday. I will review that firmware in a day or so after I have a chance to play with it.

Here is a better picture of the ceiling mount configuration. Remove the four screws that can be seen, the bracket then can be rotated to the ceiling orientation.

First is with the camera set to auto exposure, 2nd is with it set to 1/60, 3 is set to 1/120. IR is set to SmartIR.
You can see the obvious change times in the video.

I get many, many notifications most days, it's very possible I simply missed it.

Yikes! IR blows out badly with AE. Tolerable image quality with fixed exposure.

<nod>

Thanks for putting all this work into it, @looney2ns.

I've found no issues with the new firmware, except IVS does not work correctly. It has been raining each evening, so I've yet to test the SmartIR.

No PTZ presets, and I doubt there ever will be.

That's disappointing :( In what way(s) does it not work correctly?

It has been raining each evening, so I've yet to test the SmartIR.
It'll be interesting to see if they addressed that.

No PTZ presets, and I doubt there ever will be.
Personally, I'm not expecting them. Comparing this cam to the much-beefier PTZ cams, I doubt it was designed to be regularly slewed up & down, right & left.

Thanks, again, for your work, @looney2ns!
