Hi all,

Hope this is an easy one.

Long story short, I replaced a camera with a different one in the same position. The new camera has a different IP than the old to make things somewhat easier. As such, the old camera effectively became dead and I deleted it from the NVR (7716NXI).

Though the camera itself is no longer present, any easy way to retrieve the footage from that camera? I hadn't explicitly deleted anything other than the camera itself, and as I have a few cameras being split across two 8TB disks, at least from a historical perspective, I'll most likely have the data.

I'm unsure of what the system does to footage for a device that's removed.

TIA.

From what I've seen, the footage remains, not deleted.

But on a non-PoE-port-connected camera, to retrieve footage the channel needs an entry under Camera Configuration so you can select it under Playback.

So maybe see if adding a dummy entry under Camera Configuration to give the same channel number as the one you deleted allows searching the data.

edit Just a thought - did the new camera 'inherit' the same channel number of the camera you deleted?
If so - that channel should have data for the old camera.
If you've not already done so - check back in time.
