R0 / DS-2CD2x32 BrickfixV2 brick recovery and full upgrade tool - enhanced.

I use the brick V2 firmware , try both the english and Chinese version

I have connected my laptop to a stand-alone POE switch with PC on 192.0.0.128 and cam on 192.0.0.64 with HIk TFTP , no success

tried on 192.168.1.128 also no success

tried on WinXP, on windows 7 and finally on Ubuntu with Scott python script

SAPD can see the cam and I can also ping it but the TFTP refuse to work

I followed your instructions to the letter with a power adaptor and a dumb switch

and it worked
thanks

Hello gents

Looking for some advise. Got some Chinese second hand bi-spectral cameras (DS-2TD1228T-2/QA) from local market place without knowing about whole firmware ordeal. Not a big deal as I just use translator to set it up and record both streams on my reolink RLN 36, but is it possible to convert it to English firmware?? English firmware is more recent too comparted to Chinese. Thanks in advance

Any experience that the language hack can work with this camera model ?

Howdy!

I'm trying to fix an old DS-2CD2032-I from Chines to English. I've been able to follow the instructions all the way up to starting the tftpd32.exe. When I run fixup.sh via Putty, I get a ftfp timeout. I'm running on Windows 10. I know this thread was started 10-11 years ago so I'm wondering if it is a Windows 10 issue. I didn't see any setting to adjust in the original post about the tftp server. I would assume to set it to the same network interface as the camera but when I run the script, it times out (tftp: timeout). Can anyone make any recommendations? All the files are in one folder.

What IP address did you set the PC to use?
Did you allow inbound access to the tftp updater in Windows firewall?

Are the camera and PC each connected separately to a switch or router port? A direct connection between them can be troublesome.
Is the camera powered using 12v as opposed to PoE? A PoE connection can also be troublesome. Hikvision's timing on the tftp updater is quite marginal and can miss the handshake if there are any extra delays.

Computer is set to: 192.0.0.128
Yes, I allowed it through the firewall when asked the first time I ran it.
My computer is connected to a PoE 16 port switch and I only have the one camera on it at a time.
The tftp updater works fine, I have been able to load other firmwares, it is not bricked. I'm trying to make it all English.

Step 9: Start the normal tftp server (not the Hikvision tftp updater). If it's the jouinin.net version, the program is tftpd32.exe

Instructions are not clear to me about the tftp server (not the updater). I'm assuming it is the mechanism to get files to from the camera to my computer. I launch it, change he interface to 192.0.0.128. Is there anything else I need change in the settings of the tftpd32.exe?

Hi alastairstevenson

I wanted to thank you for replying so fast, I wasn't expecting a reply so soon. I also wanted to add that the issue seems to be that Putty is not connecting to tfftpd32. I've got the AVG disabled (I have to to connect to the Hikvision Updater anyway. Rules to allow inbound on tftpd32.exe also in place. Not sure if it is a Windows 10 issue.

Thanks,
Ben

Read this blog post, download the service firmware, and simply update your camera through the web interface. Your camera will be permanently converted to the European model.

Thanks Oleglevsha! I'll try that approach and see how it goes. Do you know if that firmware will also change the day of the week displayed on the live view screen to selected language?

Regards,
Ben
The firmware will make all the changes proposed in this forum thread on its own, after which the camera will become a fully European model that can be upgraded to the latest firmware version for this model.

Oleglevsha,

Thank you so much for that link. I used the Hikvision tftpserv.exe, installed the 5.2.5, reset camera before booting, cleared the browser cache/history/etc and it came right up with multi-language. Even the day of the week is in English in Live View. I upgraded it to 5.4.8 via stepping up from 5.2.5 -> 3.0.0 -> 4.0.0 -> 5.0.0 -> 5.4.5 -> 5.4.8 via the camera web interface. It connects to my Hikvision NVR, no language mismatch error. Everything works perfectly. I may not have needed to step up the version but I just wanted to be sure. I did change the password to a more secure password at 5.2.5 just in case.

Regards,
Ben
