Thank you alastair, another successful DS-2CD2432F-IW upgrade to 5.4.5, straight from FW 4.0.8. Camera was locked in at 5.2.5, and any attempt to update FW would default it back to some FW 4.0.8 or something something, 5.3.0 downgrader would get it back to 5.2.5. I bought the cam on Amazon for around a buck and I suspected it was a Chinese hack job. Sho nuff it was, language was at 2, FF block wasn't set properly, you know the spiel. Your resource .zip along with the detailed instructions and pics worked flawlessly. I had almost given up on updating this cam, until of course, I came across this thread. So cool of you to share your wealth of knowledge. Very much appreciated.

Yes.
When you do the brickfixV2 method - the camera can be updated to the 5.4.41 or 5.4.5 firmware, which has not changed for over a year, and is likely to be the last update.

Newbie here looking for some help to change a DS-IPC-T12H-1, firmware V5.5.6_108503, from Chinese to English.
I can see the camera on the NVR due to a language mismatch error. I have the camera connected directly to my laptop lan port using Cat5 and powering through the plug adapter; no I don’t have a PoE switch. Via SADP I can see the device IP and mac address but the Admin password 12345 does not work nor does the serial on teh box (also on the camera itself). I have DL the 5.5.61_180718 firmware and used the tool at the start of this thread to no avail. HELP!
I can’t ping the IP as it times out. I have confirmed, via the mac address and arp -a, that the IP address is correct. I am doing something wrong but have no idea where to from here. I have tried to putty in but that too just times out due to network connection error (re the IP not responding I suspect). Be kind but what is it I am missing here?

I successfully updated my DS-2CD2135F-IS with brickfixv2CN.dav (EN didn't work). But now i can't telnet it - timeout. I can't ping it too. And I can't update it again - process stops on "Device [192.0.0.64] test tstpserver",client doesn't start to connect.
what should i do next?

Not sure what your comment re the password means as 12345 does not work either.

That firmware should have been rejected by the DS-2CD2135F-IS
The brickfixV2 firmware is specifically for R0 cameras - yours is G0 or G1
The Hikvision tftp updater showed 'System update completed' ?
You will need to place a digicap.dav for a DS-2CD2135 in the folder that the tftp updater is in.
Maybe from here - DOWNLOAD PORTAL - but it depends on the exact model of the camera.
alastairstevenson is any chance to also hack NVR china ? TO support update firmware ? Or only ip cam....

How are you powering the camera? Best with 12v, not PoE.
And how are you connecting the camera?

I'm working with PoE, just because i have no 12v adapter. PC and cam connected to a switch. I'm searching for 12v adapter, it is last idea that I have right now(( but why it can be, first installation was completed thru PoE, but after that installation does not start thru the same PoE port?
