PTZ5A4M-25X Tracking issues - Dahua SD5A425GA-HNR

Try to make a factory default to the camera, sometime the old fw history not clear make this happen.

I regret upgrading; this auto-tracking is really poor, just want to turn it off

Did you do the best practice method of 3 factory resets, update firmware, 3 factory resets and set up from scratch?

You are talking about a different camera model than this thread is about - where did you purchase camera and where did you obtain firmware from?

Are you using Internet Explorer - the PTZs in particular are sensitive to browser and the firmware was designed around plain ole Internet Explorer - and Edge in IE mode isn't the same. Plain ole Internet Explorer.

How to enable native Internet Explorer in Windows 10 and 11:
  • Open Notepad:
    • Copy then paste the single line of code below into Notepad:
    • CreateObject("InternetExplorer.Application").Visible=true
    • Save as OpenIE.vbs
  • Make sure the the file name ends in .vbs not .txt, If it ends in .txt you must rename to .vbs
  • Create a shortcut to the above file and double-click it anytime you want native Internet Explorer.

2- JMCU removed a couple of my IVS rules. This actually improved tracking. Again this is counter to most of my other cameras. Removing a tripwire within an Intrusion box greatly helped tracking in that zone.
Yes, more IVS rules increases RAM usage on the camera. Can cause issues for the CPU on each cycle delaying tasks.

While that makes sense, I have other cameras with 5-6 IVS rules that work great. This one had 2. Perhaps just underpowered to start with

I’ve turned on the 2nd one again so we’ll see if it makes a difference.

Having played with it for weeks now, the largest gain seems to have been the contrast/wdr.

But the new FW has made a huge difference

Why “ 3 factory resets, update firmware, 3 factory resets and set up from scratch”? I didn't even have a factory reset before I upgraded, yes,I use edge

The cam from a friend of mine,Firmware from Dahua after-sales official, factory resets via web or the Buttons at the back of the camera? thx

Folks that get "under the hood" can see that sometimes it takes few factory resets for everything to take.

Doesn't mean you won't have a problem as many don't, but if you do that is likely it.

If you can get to the camera, I prefer the actual button, but in theory the GUI reset works as well.
