This popped up in my news feed last week and thought it was something great to share. I can't say having such a program is something that should be the norm. But, given the escalation and financial loss as it relates to Porch Pirate Thefts. This seems like a worthy investment of police resources and finances in hopes of reducing these type of incidents. 
In several parts of the world Asian / Middle East . . .
Such theft is countered by losing hands & feet . . .
The stats for those who are repeat offenders is zero . . .
If people were to be caught and than lose a hand, feet, etc I can safely state all manner of crime would drop to near zero. I don't know about anyone else but having lost a single hand would deter me from anything.
Losing both hands - come on, how the hell do you eat, tie your shoes, wipe your ass?!?! If you lost both hands & feet sweet Jesus you're one mentally unstable individual with no hope of saving.
