This popped up in my news feed last week and thought it was something great to share. I can't say having such a program is something that should be the norm. But, given the escalation and financial loss as it relates to Porch Pirate Thefts. This seems like a worthy investment of police resources and finances in hopes of reducing these type of incidents. :thumb:

In several parts of the world Asian / Middle East . . .

Such theft is countered by losing hands & feet . . . :thumb:

The stats for those who are repeat offenders is zero . . .

If people were to be caught and than lose a hand, feet, etc I can safely state all manner of crime would drop to near zero. I don't know about anyone else but having lost a single hand would deter me from anything.

Losing both hands - come on, how the hell do you eat, tie your shoes, wipe your ass?!?! If you lost both hands & feet sweet Jesus you're one mentally unstable individual with no hope of saving.

I am guessing that losing Both hands is supposed to be a punishment for the FAMILY/PARENTS of said thief--- that THEY should have done a better job. Kind of a worse version of the Chinese government sending a bill for 13 cents to the family for the bullet used to execute a family member. (I want bullets at 13 cents per round!!)

That said, I would not be in favor of a thief losing Both hands. Doing so would make it exceedingly unlikely that they would be able to tie a proper noose to remove themselves from society.

One of the best replies this year!

As it relates to some of these types of punishments. I have to say the range from being caned, stoned, hands & feet, be heading, to a bullet to the head?!?

Yeah, I’m not going to do anything stupid in these countries while visiting etc. :smash:

Mark Rober did a few videos about fake packages. But I would think losing a hand or foot would be more of a deterrent than fart spray and glitter.

Hands down the exploding parcel thing he started years ago is truly epic! :headbang:
