I am very ignorant about this and really need help!

I have a Swann NVR 7400 with 8 ports for cameras. I am currently running 4 outside cameras on the system. I bought 4 mini POE IP cameras to put inside the house and cannot get the Swann NVR to recognize them. Any suggestions would be greatly greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jake

Are the cameras models a secret?

Sorry, I did not mean to leave that out. Honestly, I bought them on ebay and they look like this.

So, they don't say the brand or model
there is a high probability that you cannot add them. Swann uses different manufactures on various models. Some dont support onvif or rtsp streaming.
post images of the options to add a camera.

This is what the screen looks like where I have added the cameras in the past that came with the system.

So, do you think it is possible to get this to work, or no?

Hi Jake,

Do the cameras have an ONVIF setting?

Is there an rtsp stream available?

From what I understand ONVIF is a protocol (which i dont know what that means). THe protocol on the NVR screen for the cameras is set on automatic.

Hi Jake,

I am not asking about the NVR for a good reason, I am asking about the cameras:

"Hi Jake,

Do the cameras have an ONVIF setting?

Is there an rtsp stream available?"

You need to know the 'ONVIF port', this is usually one of the parameters in the channel configuration of the NVR for an ONVIF protocol connected camera.

The ONVIF port can be inspected using ONVIF Device Manager (sourceforge.net).
The PC needs to have an IP address in the same range as the camera you want to query.
Give ODM a valid logon ID/password (top left of its window) and it will find ONVIF devices on the same LAN as the PC automatically.
The ONVIF port can be seen in the URL at the bottom of the 'Identification' page.
