In order to making orders easier for US guys, we put amazon shop online for selling. And get 100% good review based on our fast shipment and service. I appreciated it.
Actually we get some unreasonable returns, such as don't like, hard to install on the ceiling or no need anymore.Return I think should be no problem, but these guys not even pay the return cost and stucked the payment and cameras and never response any emails we sent to him. We ship most items from China to US, so can't send the labels to ship back, so we find a partner in US to help process the returns, but these guys do nothing. We met this kind of 3-4 times per month. And threat the business on our Amazon shop.

For the new orders defective item, we pay full cost for the return and will send new one replaced, just send me an email is fine. Today we met a guy, i told him to replace a new one for him because of his camera failed when he opened the box, and we will undertake the shipping cost, he said i am working with forum to cheat his money. And don't want to return it and said throw into the garbage bin. And disappeared. Actually the reviews for all the models here are neutral testing report, just find a way to get the best cameras for using and pure fun.

99.9% guys here are very good. We welcome all discussion about the device we posted here, bad or good. Any time contact me via kingsecurity2014@163.com for everything and sort things out fast.

Will bring more and more new ones here to test and more fun;):headbang:

Andy Sorry for your problems with some of the ass holes that buy on Amazon.

You may need to make a harder return policy.
Item must be returned and must test defective. Before a new one is shipped..
User shipping cost will be reimbursed if defective.

Bad customers will increasthe price for all of us.

Thanks for your advice, that is right, or else have to increase the selling price. But that is not fair for the honest guys, haha.

I agree with this.

A lot of business's impose a 10-20% restocking fee, if an Item is returned and it is not found defective.
In other words, the person that bought the item only gets 80%-90% of their money back.
There is no excuse for folks to not understand what they are buying from you with all the information that is available here.
It's on the customer to determine prior to purchase if the item is suitable for their intended use or not.
This goes for some storefront retail business here in the US.
If they have a chronic item return customers, they ban them from future purchasing.
There are a lot of jerks around.

Empiretecandy I’m sure you did a bit of research before opening your store on Amazon. Amazon will side with the customer 99% of time time and you get stuck. The people on this site are very familiar with the problems associated with IP cameras; the general public not so much. If you get enough complaints Amazon will suspend your right to sell and all your product will be stuck in limbo. Hope you have great success with your Amazon adventure.

Something I've never quite figured out is what should qualify as "defective" for a high-tech product.

For example, just a month or two ago I bought a new "HDMI encoder" box through Amazon. It takes an HDMI input and produces an H.264 video stream. This particular device was cutting about 8 pixels off the bottom of the stream and producing substantially lower quality output than my previous-generation model, despite the bit rate limit being 3 times higher. There was no firmware available to try to resolve these issues. So I returned it and called it defective, which got Amazon to pay for return shipping with no "restocking fee" (probably passing that cost along to the seller). But here's the thing. I bet 99% of users would not have noticed either problem, and would say I was just being nit-picky and that it was unfair to call it defective because it was working within normal parameters for the device. Certainly the seller would think so. But to me, it was defective. Or at least not as advertised. I chose defective because I don't blame the seller and I figured a "not as advertised" claim would have unfairly bumped the seller up on Amazon's shit list.

In the context of an IP camera, it is not hard to imagine any number of reasons a person might not be satisfied. Maybe they couldn't figure out how to set it up. Maybe they thought all IP cameras had wifi and were disappointed to learn theirs didn't. Maybe their network or PC is crappy or their software is misconfigured and can't stream the video smoothly. Or maybe there is a legitimate hardware or firmware problem. To someone who doesn't understand the technology, any of these things could be seen as not getting what they paid for. Either way, Amazon is most likely going to take the side of the customer because that is what is most profitable for them in the end.

Right now we get no complaint, just make the return easier. ;)

So you are also Kingsecurity2018 on Amazon? They also sell Dahua cameras I saw. Or is that a different seller?

Amazon Prime customers probably expect a lot and abuse the return policies of Prime; they probably try to do the same with you. I'm sorry to hear that. I ordered two Dahua Starlights from you. I do some selling on ebay with used PC parts, so I understand how people can be. For me I would only sell my expensive parts to customers who had a proven history of being good customers. So many people try to scam. But I know not everyone can pick and choose their customers.

Yes, that is right, we sell some there and keep some stock at Amazon's warehouse, some stocks shipped from US. Such as the SD22204T-GN, SD22404T-GN, NVR4216-16P-4KS2, these 3 models we have stock there.

@EMPIRETECANDY probably 50 people on this forum from years which would accept & test returns for you Andy unless it takes a warehouse haha! Problem will be what to do after they are found to be working (and maybe per bp2008, whats the definition of working), probably too costly to send back to China, but if they pass all the tests can you resell anyway on Amazon, or send out as replacements so you dont have to send new from China a 2nd time? I know some US big companies send "refurbished" units out as replacements to warranty returns.

Really sucks a few bad Amazon apples might ruin the opportunity for you through the Amazon shop.

I think Amazon trade very much on the basis of no quibble returns. That's why they're grown so big - they're a vendor you can trust as a buyer as you know if things aren't right, you always get your money back. However, I can see how for a small vendor, that can work against you. I'm guessing with large volume vendors, they simply offset returns vs profits. Harder for a more niche product with lower sales. Best advice I can give, is look at Amazon marketplace or some other outlet for selling non faulty returns at reduced down prices to help recover some of the lost money.
 
So Andy, how would you prefer that we (US based IPCAM members) order from you? Would you prefer that we use the Amazon store, the AliExpress shop, or direct email to you? Which is best for you?
