Hi is this possible? Can i use Dahua NVR4208 firmware on this nvr?
 
It would probably work, but no guarantees I certainly haven't attempted it. I'd do a factory reset after the upgrade.
 
I might buy one of these nvr's but it has a password on it. How did you do a factory reset?
 
Mine came with a password from the seller. But there is a thread here where they show you how to reset factory password (search for dahua factory password reset) . Are you going to buy an ADT NVR or the dahua one?

The link is not working. Is it the one for $69.99 from tech_pros24? He should give you the password all what you have to do is to log in and reset it. I haven't done a factory reset so far I only loaded Dahua Firmware on it. Im not sure what will happen to my admin password if I do a factory reset.

Weird that link doesn't work. Yes it is the 69.99 from tech_pros24. So that is a dahua just sold under adt?
 
Its a Dahua but it has ADT Firmware on it. They are not in the best shape but works fine. Now I dont think they are 4K NVRs I think its 5MP max.

I'm curious if there is any benefit of using the Dahua firmware? Are there additional features?
I just acquired a nvr4208-8p-adt-4 and already have upgraded to the most recent ADT firmware I could find. (ADT_NVR4xxx_Eng_N_V3.205.0ADT001.0.R.20180206)

Better ask your supplier to send you update firmware, any wrong updating will kill your NVR.

I know this post is 2+ ish years old, but I have this very same model and cannot find the flash files for this to convert it to a normal NVR4208-8P. I got it from Ebay and there was no video out on either the VGA or HDMI but it looks to be in brand new condition so I'm ugessing it just needs to be reflashed. I can access the serial terminal and flash files through TFTP. I just need the right files .. most places I look only give you the .bin but this requires all the various .imgs.

Anyone have all these files for the ADT model or the 8P (non 4KS2) model?
