United Kingdom.
Your first link is to an 'English' version of the camera.
Your second link doesn't mention it, so it may be a 'hacked to Multi-Language' version.
There is usually a big price premium between the English and ML versions.
Best to check with the seller before purchase.

Thanks.

I messaged the seller and it's a UK version apparently.

That's me!

Hi Jiten,

I presumed it was you as you answered the question, I will check when it arrives.

In the future I will purchase direct from your site.

Thanks,

Lee.

My fingers are crossed for you.
Quick Amazon tip for the future - when towards the end of the headline products description there is a link such as 'NNN New from £some_money', click on the 'New' link to see all the suppliers and then pick the specific one you want.

Sounds good!

Arrived with V5.3.3 build 150630

I cannot see any Chinese markings on in so I presume its a UK model.

It's probably fine ...
A couple or more ways to check:
Web GUI.
The classical way was in the device serial number, there is normally a group of 4 letters, eg CCWR world region, CCCH China region.
Though I think the serial number format has been changed on the newer cameras.
Compare the firmware version on the label with the reported version in the web GUI. If they are the same - good. If different - firmware has been loaded since manufacture.
Enable SSH in the web GUI.

Connect with SSH, logging in with UserID=root, pwd=your_admin_password
PuTTY is a popular and good SSH and telnet client, if you don't already have one.
At the command prompt, use 'prtHardInfo'
This should work even with the 'psh' restricted shell.
That will show serial number, firmware version - and the reported language. Though this can be bogus if hacked firmware has been loaded.;

Yep same fw on the box. Looking at the 5.3.6 thread I think I'll leave it on 5.3.3

Thanks Alastair.

Very prudent.
Looking forward to your comparative views on the Longse when it's arrived and you have a chance to explore it.
I'm intending to add a DS-2CD3332 to extend coverage but may go for the S500 instead.

I'll get a side by side comparison against this 2342 when it arives. If its no better I'll be selling the Longse and buying another Hik. Having non matching cams on the house might keep me awake at night...

So the 3323 are £80 each? Which is the same as the 2332. A nice £40 saving especially as I don't see a huge diffrence between the 3mp 2232 and my new 2342.

These model numbers make my brain hurt.:sad2:
