I'm having trouble getting some MOBOTIX cameras to record to a new Synology NAS running DSM 7.

Anyone know what the trick is?

I've setup exactly as I've always done in the past using SMB/CIFS share as the storage target, but for some reason this instance doesn't work.

Cameras are mainly 6 x i25 and 1 x S74. NAS is DS1621xs+.

Reached out to both MX and SY but not holding my breath.

What version of SMB/CIFS is the new NAS using?
Maybe enable a lower version if that's available to see if the connection then works.
Thanks Alastair. I resolved it with advice from Synology ( which was both prompt
). In the end I had to allow NTLMv1 in the NAS. Not ideal because it’s insecure.

I queried MOBOTIX and their reply was as follows:

“Unfortunately only the x6 series cameras and up support this. The only option is to allow v1 on the NAS. “

Not very good imho. Also inconsistent with their much spouted commitments to strong cyber-security.

SOLUTION:
so … if you have old MOBOTIX and a new Synology … it won’t work until you enable the insecure NTLMv1 in the NAS SMB/CIFS settings.
