Yesterday I began to install a 6-cam setup for a neighbour using the DS-2CD2335FWD-I cams. Installed two that night and looking at the cams remotely last night, the image was terrible.

Today looking at the cams, I noticed moisture inside the lens. Anyhow, I installed another two and now tonight here in the UK, I have noticed these two have the same problem. That’s 4 out of 4 useless for viewing.

What is going on? I’ve installed several of these before without any issues.

At a guess:
All the cameras have been assembled in high-humidity conditions and the silica gel humidity-absorbing capsules have not dealt with it.

What should I do? Could I open them up and dry it out?

Where do those cameras come from? A random chinese supplier, or a source where you can actually send them back for replacement? If the second, I would RMA them.

That should not be happening unless the cameras have been tampered with. As alastair says it seems those cameras have been opened on high humidity conditions which would mean they have been disassembled after they left the factory.
