LaView LV-N9508Q8E DVR - no mouse cursor or GUI

Hi guys, I'm new around here. I just recently picked up a LaView bundle with the DVR model LV-N9508Q8E.

I'm having an issue where there's no GUI or mouse cursor. I can't change any settings. It was working initially when I tried it out, but I noticed this issue again a few days later and a reboot of the box fixed it. Now it seems I can't get it to come back no matter what I try.

I've tried rebooting the box, unplugging power, unplugging the cameras... nothing seems to work. The video from the cameras does show up, however.

Any ideas?

I believe it has to do with AUX mode, where the manual says the mouse won't work several times throughout.

It did work last night after I unplugged the internet ethernet cable and rebooted. Not really sure why that matters.

I also saw this issue . For me, I get the mouse and GUI only on my Sony TV but not on Skeptre TV. BTW I am using the same HDMI cable. I tried multiple reboots and factory resets.
