I'm just getting started with surveillance cameras and decided to start small. I have an Amcrest IP3M-941 connected with wifi through a Netgear router to my Windows 8.1 desktop running a complete Blue Iris package. What a difference from the Amcrest software! I was about to give up on the whole project until I tried BI. I'm a retired old geek trying to see if I can still learn new things! The biggest challenge seems to be nomenclature, but what a hoot.

Welcome to IPCT, you 80 year old "newb"!

Hello, welcome to the forum.

Welcome to IPCT. You do not have me by very many years.
I'm up in Chino Valley, and have a system using the Dahua NVR. Very pleased.
