I have a Hikvision DS-7608NI-I2/8P NVR and have seen posts that mention the loss of some setting when connecting a Dahua IPCam.

I am trying to find out what setting are lost / limited?

Looking at adding a IPC-HDW5231R-ZE to my system but before I commit to purchasing the camera I want to know if I should bother?

OR

Would I be better to setup a PC and run SmartPSS?

You would be better to setup a PC and use Blue Iris.
